I began my filmmaking journey all the way back in middle school (which is further back than I care to admit), making silly videos with my friends. Somewhere along the line I got a chance to film a wedding, and I haven't looked back since. Meeting amazing couples and getting to tell their stories is, and continues to be, a dream come true.

Growing up, my Dad was a DJ and I had the opportunity to familiarize myself with the wedding industry. In my career as a technical director, I've gained experience with what can go wrong and how to fix it as well as staying up to date on the latest and best technology. When Covid hit, I had the opportunity to help several churches get set up to produce quality livestreams of their services. Now, with the help of my amazing team, I'm happy to provide a way for you to professionally share your special day with loved ones who may not be able to celebrate with you in person!

Photography has become my creative outlet, especially when I got out of the Navy and needed it most. I fell in love with the entire process from getting to know the couples to editing the images. Now, at Murphy Studios, I film weddings and photograph everything, including engagements, anniversaries, military homecomings, families, professional headshots and events. My name is Chief and I'm the founder of Chief the Creator. This business came about from my passion for shooting and capturing stunning imagery. I started out with photography but soon found a stronger passion for videography. I love creating cinematic videos and being able to capture all of the most important moments of your big day and turning them into a beautiful, telling love story. While I have gravitated towards videography, my wife Amanda has fully taken over the photography aspect. Her love for photography and her ability to connect to our clients is unmatched. Together we love capturing and creating beautiful photos and videos.

After freelancing over 9-10 years as a Wedding Cinematographer and Photographer, I have finally achieved the dream of opening my own studio. I came to the states in 2015 to get my Masters in International Business but fell in love with the art of capturing light. Since then, I’ve never looked back. I'm William, a dedicated and passionate photographer/videographer based in Washington, DC. My love of photography was born out of my love of travel. While exploring other countries and cultures, I was using my phone to document the people that I met and the places that I have been. This led me to buy my first professional-level camera; it has been with me ever since. I consider my photography style to be timeless.
