The Foundation of Light is a spiritual center for meditation. The study and regular practice of meditation, as an aid to the expansion of consciousness and self-realization, is a fundamental part of all Foundation of Light activities. The founders of the Foundation of Light, John and Kate Payne, along with Mabel DeMotte Beggs, were experts in many forms of ancient healing techniques. Built in 2000, the main Foundation of Light building has several diverse rooms available, depending on your group size and needs.

There is no place more beautiful than the Finger Lakes, and we are excited to bring a destination to the community where people can come together to enjoy each other, laugh and sip delicious artisan spirits. The venue also offers a tasting room with seating for 84 inside, a wall of full glass accordion doors that open to an outdoor balcony that seats 60, all with spectacular scenic lake views, and is well appointed with a full bar, whiskey barrel sinks in the restrooms, a viewing window of the still, and an aged tin ceiling that sets the space apart from others. The new 4992-square foot Finger Lakes venue features a state-of-the-art distilling room that is highlighted by a custom-built, 500-gallon copper, two-stage hybrid pot still/ reflux column still from HBS Copper, the commercial division of Hillbilly Stills in Tennessee.

Cayuga Nature Center provides a rustic, natural setting to host weddings. Our historic 1930’s Lodge, and 120 acres of woods, trails, gorges, and waterfalls, offer the perfect setting for a beautiful and memorable celebration.

The Meadow is a four-season venue on Seneca Lake. Home to Vineyard View Winery’s Seneca Lake tasting room, our 100-person event space can be expanded during the warmer seasons to host up to 170 people in an indoor-outdoor experience. Located on the shores of Seneca Lake, our space offers sweeping lake views, stunning fields of flowers, and optional experiences to spend time with the Sweet Farm Rescued Animal Ambassadors.

The Port Watson Mini-Conference Center is the premier venue for gatherings in the Cortland area. Located just minutes from historic downtown Cortland this family-owned business is centrally located between Syracuse, Ithaca, and Binghamton. Three indoor event spaces are available for rent, suitable to host anything from small intimate gatherings to large weddings of up to 100 guests. Our newest addition, the pavilion, is our outdoor venue perfect for weddings looking to take advantage of the warmer weather. Each room is entirely customizable to your needs and for your convenience, all tables and chairs are included in your rental.
