The Andrew Mellon Auditorium stands, without question, among the very finest classical buildings in America. The gilded auditorium and lobbies are among the nation's most magnificent interiors. With its stunning columns and classic styling, over 10,000 square feet of indoor space, and a gorgeous balcony with impressive views of the city, the Andrew Mellon Auditorium is a premier location for conferences, galas and receptions. The venue fee is $22,275 for under 599 guests, and $22,800 for 600-1000 guests, and that includes the building rental and support costs, as well as off-site scanning of your vendor vehicles, security for your load in/out and one set of front doors for guest entrance. When hosting at the Mellon, you will need to work with one of our approved vendors to supply all of your event needs (catering, rentals, décor, valet, ect.).

“We had our son’s Wedding Reception in Andrew Mellon Auditorium in September, 2019. When we wanted to look at the venue, we contacted Jaime Ward of Event Emissary, who manages the venue, and she was so professional and helpful. She kindly agreed to be the event coordinator for our son’s Wedding Reception. We couldn’t have asked for a better venue! Having looked at a few hotel ballrooms, when we first looked at the Andrew Mellon Auditorium, we were awestruck! Even the pretty photos we had seen didn’t prepare us to visualize how magnificent it is! This venue is just magical. Not only are the inside of the venue, the exquisite foyers, and the great hall, also, the surroundings - a photographers’ dream. During the months leading up to the Reception, we were in contact with Jaime. She always answered our e-mails promptly and patiently answered our countless questions about logistics and such. Jaime’s supreme organizational skills took the stress out of everything! 0ur 450 plus guests were raving as to what a beautiful setting Andrew Mellon is. They were also all praise for the event itself – how thoughtfully organized and coordinated. Jaime was just brilliant at handling every aspect of the event, took care of every detail. Our son and daughter-in-law loved every second of their special event. It was so gratifying to see it all come together so beautifully on the day of the Reception. Our heartfelt and sincere thanks to Jaime for helping to make the wedding reception – the one to remember for our lifetime! Asa has such a calming presence and on such a chaotic and stressful day it was so, so needed. He was so wonderful to work with in the planning and helped us make a thoughtful plan to ensure we got all of the photos we wanted. We had a traditional Catholic mass and he and his colleague were able to easily follow all of the Church's rules while capturing the essential moments flawlessly. We got every photo we wanted during the mass which was incredibly impressive. We also got shots at sunset by the water and Asa perfectly captured our vision! These are some of our favorite photos. He also captured all of the energy and fun that we had and we walked away with multiple photos of every single one of our guests which was such a treat. We had tastings with two other vendors and had reached out to probably 10 others before we got to speak with Oliver at Eat & Smile. The first two tastings were a disaster, and we were feeling despondent! But from the first conversation with Oliver, we had hope! His whole approach to fresh, farm-to-table food is refreshing and delightful. He tries to keep his business as green and sustainable as possible while also keeping taste and experience at the forefront. And he's really awesome to work with. He knows this industry inside and out and is so helpful when helping you understand how much of everything you need and what not to spend your money on and stuff like that. And the food...the food is impeccable. So delicious. And he tries to make sure that it tells your story. He wants to know if you have a favorite snack or spent a year abroad and liked a certain treat from that country. He'll work it in some way. It's amazing. He makes your menu personal to you as a couple, not just some bland chicken and overcooked steak. Our guests couldn't stop talking about how great the food was and how different our choices were (we offered pollo guisado, which is Dominican stewed chicken, with black beans and rice, or shrimp and cheesy grits for the two main dishes). I can't recommend Eat & Smile enough!!”

Although we decided to have a garden ceremony and not a church ceremony, it was important for our families to feel at home. Our initial ask of Fr. David was not to officiate our ceremony (because we had a courthouse ceremony also planned), but to deliver a homily. However, over time, my and my partner's plans expanded slightly to include other aspects of a traditional Catholic wedding (blessings for the parents and godparents, the cord ceremony, etc.). Fr. David was more than accommodating and so supportive throughout our journey. With his support and understanding, we felt very comfortable incorporating these aspects of tradition that mean so much to us and our families, while still making the ceremony uniquely our own. He is so gentle, encouraging, and warm, and strikes the perfect balance between signifying authority given the importance of the occasion, and providing commentary to elicit laughter. We feel very blessed for Fr. David to be a significant part of our special day!”

“Kelton from Marquee Artists was amazing! He was a communicative and active participant in the planning of the music and the announcements at my wedding on March 9. Kelton provided an extensive list of potential songs to play in a shared Google Document with columns for “play” and “do not play” which was great. Also, I was impressed that he attended the walk through of the Whittemore House a month prior to the wedding, asking pertinent questions of the Whittemore staff about the placement of various things and how best to provide the sound amplification that would be needed. He provided wireless mics which worked really well for the toasts. Kelton did a great job as the master of ceremony and his mix of the selected music was fun and fabulous. He had the crowd dancing, rocking to the music. Many of the older folks told me that they hadn’t danced in years but were having lots of fun doing so then. Having him on our wedding team instilled so much confidence in me, my daughter and new son-in-law, who is an amateur DJ. They were so taken by Kelton that, if possible, they would like to attend future events at which Kelton is the DJ!! I HIGHLY recommend him.”
