With 5,000+ sq ft of living and event space as well as 1/3 acre of gardens, The Mazant is a historic mansion located in the heart of New Orleans' Bywater arts district - and about 1.5 miles from the French Quarter (30 minutes walking or 8 minutes by Uber). We are close to Bacchanal, The Joint, The Country Club, Elizabeth's, and The Music Box. It's perfect for family reunions, wedding parties, company off-sites, and other large groups.

The NOCCA Foundation is the nonprofit that supports the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts, which is Louisiana's arts conservatory for high school students. Our venues are located in one of New Orleans' oldest neighborhoods, the Faubourg Marigny, just upriver from the Bywater. Our buildings date from the early 1800s and have been beautifully restored with modern amenities. Funds from rentals help support a range of programs for students, faculty, and the community, including an Artists-in-Residence program that brings up to 100 visiting artists into NOCCA's classrooms each year; professional development funds for NOCCA faculty; and a series of concerts, gallery exhibitions, readings, and classes for the community.

GW Fins can also accommodate up to 200 people for a sit-down dinner and as many as 275 for a cocktail reception in our Main Dining Room. Although we are normally not open for lunch, we are more than happy to accommodate groups of 40 or more for a private lunch. Laurenia is housed inside the Pythian Temple which has a history of remarkable local significance. Smith Wendell (S.W.) Green, then one of the most prominent African-American businessmen in New Orleans, commissioned the construction of the Pythian Temple in 1908. The Pythian immediately played an integral part in New Orleans early civil rights movement. It towered over the surrounding neighborhood and became a center of the African American community. Since its inception, The Pythian Temple hosted popular performing groups and African-American carnival balls. The venue led to the formation of the Zulu Parading Club and even housed a popular rooftop bar known as “Piron’s Garden of Joy.” It is said that a young Louis Armstrong first played at The Pythian Temple. Laurenia is named after Smith Wendell (S.W.) Green’s wife. She assisted him in running his business, was a member of the NAACP, and was active in the early struggle for civil rights.

In general, our space can accommodate up to 300 guests, and we have multiple spaces in order to make your day special and unique. We allow you to work with any vendors you choose as long as they are licensed and insured, however we are happy to share our favorites with you.
