Flower Moxie – Do-It-Yourself Wedding Flowers

    5.0

    Oklahoma City, OK
    • Serves Cape Elizabeth, ME

In 2013, 8-year wedding veteran Amy McCord Jones realizes she wouldn't be able to afford to hire her own floral services if she was a bride. Then, Amy discovers that there is basically zero help available for DIY brides. No flower recipes. No instructions. No access to florist-grade blooms. Rude. So she launches Flower Moxie! Flower Moxie remains a humble, tucked-away small business out of Oklahoma City. We don’t zoom around on scooters in some fancy high-rise. We stock an average kitchen with canned wine and Aldi chips and listen to true crime podcasts while photographing curvy ranunculus. Join us. There’s cake, hugs, and acceptance here.

Doing our own wedding flowers was the best choice my daughter made for her wedding, other than choosing the groom of course. You do have to commit some time in the days before the wedding but it is so worth it. There are so many video tutorials to watch that you feel like an expert. They don't leave you high and dry after you purchase either. They are in contact with you to make sure everything is going good. That was very helpful. The memories we made together by making our own flower arrangements and bouquets using Flower Moxie was priceless. It also looked like we spent a fortune on flowers because we had so many extra (they give you more than you need to account for some loss) that we had flowers everywhere as extra decoration.

    The Faux Bouquets

    5.0

    Redlands, CA
    • Starts at $175
    • Serves Cape Elizabeth, ME

Believe it or not, we often have people ask if our pictures throughout our website are showing a mix of fresh and faux and…no they aren’t! Although fresh florals are pretty, we are totally in love with poser-blooms all the way here and that’s what we design 100% of our orders with.

There have been so many stressful things about wedding planning, but the flowers with Faux Bouquets have been the least stressful. All I had to do was find some inspiration on Pinterest. After this, Brittany went to work and created my bouquet. We met over Google meets which was super easy, and she was so positive and kind. I told her that we changed some colors around in our color scheme and she went off camera, came back on and they were added to my bouquet. I think the most beautiful thing is that no matter how she mixed up my floral arrangement, it still was beautiful. After our phone call, I got a complete photo shoot of everything we ordered. Then in about 3 weeks, everything was shipped to my house. I do not have to worry about flowers dying, or flowers looking too fake (because they really look real) or even having to schedule a day to go pick them up. All I had to do was find pictures on Google and watch her do her magic over a 15-minute video call (if that long). If you are looking for something easy, stress-free, and beautiful, I would definitely use Faux Bouquets.

Alison with Bloom Culture really puts SO much work into making the DIY process as easy as possible! Her YouTube videos and DIY proposal guides are extremely detailed, and it was honestly a blast to put together my own florals for my wedding. I got a group of friends together and we all built the bouquets/boutonnieres/etc two days before the wedding, and it was so much fun! I got to make everything exactly the way I envisioned, and the flowers turned out sooooo beautiful! Such a great experience!

Ayla was absolutely amazing to work with. She understood perfectly what we wanted! All of the arrangements had a beautiful mix of color and greenery, as well as texture. I truly couldn't have imagined how beautiful it turned out. My mom is well versed in flowers as I am not, but we both found ourselves in awe of the arrangements on the day of as well as the arrangements on Ayla's instagram! She manages to put together things that most wouldn't think of, but end up being a stunning arrangement, like the dill flowers that were used in our tablescape arrangements! We are also forever grateful to Ayla as her and her team went above and beyond by bringing the remaining flowers to the memory care facility my grandmother was in so they could have flower arrangement classes for the current residences. We couldn't have been happier with Ayla throughout the process and with the final product!
