The Lyric Theater Blue Island is a unique wedding venue located in Blue Island, IL. Established in 1917, this 12,000-square-foot theater has long been an iconic part of the town, once offering all the latest Hollywood films to starstruck moviegoers. It closed in the late 1980s but was recently fully renovated and reopened by the Garetto and Cantelo families. For both families, the theater played a role in their family history, and so bringing it back to life was a labor of love. The Majestic theatre is one of the largest Vaudeville theatre’s in Chicago-land and oldest in the United States, will re-open in late 2010 as a multi-purpose venue.
