At Historic Shady Lane, we believe every couple deserves the chance to have their dream wedding in a beautiful setting. The 34-acre property contributes to the rich history of this 1770 private estate. Beautiful iron gates surrounded by rustic stone and brick welcome guests upon their arrival. Chandeliers gently illuminate hanging ferns and archways above. A cozy courtyard, located near the entrance, offers a great space for guests to mingle. Enter through to a spacious open-air banquet hall that has ample space for a large group and is fully customizable to suit any occasion. Our venue is a historic goggle factory converted into a modern art center. We’ve been hosting weddings since opening in 2005 and we love to see a couple’s dream come to life in our spaces. Built in 1918, the Carlisle Ribbon Mill was a functioning ribbon mill until 1987. The building sat mostly empty until the MCcarren family bought the property in 2003. They spent the next few years bringing it back to life and 2006 started restoration on what is now the Carlisle Ribbon Mill Banquet Facility.
