Home of the Athens YMCA from 1889 until 1919, the original building on this site became a music store, movie house, hotel, Masonic Temple, furniture company and Sears Roebuck store before being replaced by the Elite Theatre in 1935. Except for a brief period as a Methodist church, this theatre – later renamed the Georgia Theatre – has served as a significant performance venue for emerging and established musicians from Athens and beyond. Devastated by a fire on June 19th, 2009, this historic concert hall has been rebuilt as a labor of love with reverence for the creative spirit that Athens has long embraced. With special thanks to the people of Athens and all who worked so diligently to restore her and make her better, the Georgia Theatre stands proudly reborn.

Lauren’s love for photography started in college at The Ringling School of Art and Design. She’d photograph her friends and piles of junk for fun with an old 35mm film camera. She graduated with a BFA in Illustration in 2003 and moved to New York City for a career in illustration and design. After years of being frustrated by the lack of a yard, Lauren moved to Athens Georgia, fell in love with the south, started taking pictures of people in love with her best friend, called it Twin Hearts Photography, and the rest is history!

It all started in 2015 when our founder, Joe Nedza, waited in line in New York City for something similar to a Nedza's Waffle for over 2 hours. He finally got to the front and the store had just sold out. However, Joe left with an idea. Why couldn't we bring waffles here to the Classic City and put our own spin on things? So, with an idea and a drive to succeed, Joe built the company from the ground up. He set out not only to create a delicious waffle dessert, but to create a better business built around warmth, love, and kindness. Here at Nedza's, we want to get to know you, build relationships with you, and put a smile on your face.

Maura Davidson Photography LLC was established in 2015 out of a love for portrait photography and a desire to create art as a service to others. Owner and lead photographer, Maura Davidson, is a North Georgia Native who delights in sunshine, storytelling and spending lots of time with those she loves. While studying for her bachelors in Communication, Maura frequently visited the west coast and fell in love with timeless yet modern styles of photography, design, and fashion. Today Maura resides near Athens, Georgia and spends most of her time with her dog Rosie while working with engaged and married couples from all over the south east.

Paul Whitman discovered his passion for the guitar at the age of eight when he received a classical guitar album as a present. He was immediately fascinated by the tone and capabilities of the instrument and he soon began taking lessons. After fifteen years of intense study, Paul has expanded his repertoire to include styles of the Baroque, Romantic, Spanish, Latin American and Contemporary works. Paul performs as a soloist as well as frequent performances with various ensembles.
