In 2011 we purchased an old dairy farm in a quiet corner of Harrisville, New Hampshire. We cleared fields, planted orchards and gardens, built barns and a commercial kitchen, boiled maple syrup, raised pigs and sheep, and opened a farm store. Our goal was to create a thriving farm that would serve our family, the community, and visitors like you. Today, that dream is a reality. Kathy and John chased a dream to move to Vermont and start a farm, having had careers as science teachers in the Philadelphia area. Kathy had attended University of Vermont, fell in love with the state, and vowed to return one day. John left teaching to take his lifelong organic gardening passion to the next level. They looked at a number of farms across southern Vermont, and when they found the Farm at Williams River House, they knew they had found someplace really special – a front row view of Fox Chair Mountain, verdant green hayfields, timeless stone walls and split rail fences, and a stately home dating back to the time of our nation’s founding! They were home, and they wanted to share this magical and romantic space with others.

For decades Ted & Linda Fondulas have worked together as successful restaurateurs & event planners. In their 3rd act, they open up their wildly beautiful property for your occasion. Their venue, Back of the Moon, is located on a hilltop in the heart of VT near Killington Ski Resort. From the renewal of vows and offbeat elopements to bachelorette cooking parties or more traditional weddings, their private oasis kicks it for your affair. Chef Ted offers cooking classes & Linda is seasoned in event planning, so their food/beverage knowledge along with Linda’s aesthetic assists you in masterminding your special day. Their beloved property is now offered to you & yours for small or large affairs. 8 people or less: a cook & mini-moni pkg. is $825 for two. For larger, tented events mid-May to mid-October, $2800 includes 95 photo-op acres of hiking trails, forest, two ponds, plus vendor recommendations. A third option is a tented event on the bank of their large pond for 11-30 people.
