The worst experience!
I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Rusty Pelican. I paid a 2,000 deposit to reserve the venue for my wedding, which was scheduled 8 months away. Only two days after making the deposit, I contacted them to cancel because my plans had changed and I no longer needed the venue. Despite the fact that the wedding date was still many months away and they had plenty of time to rebook the space, I was told that my 2,000 deposit was completely non-refundable. There was no effort to work with me or provide any reasonable solution — just a simple “sorry, non-refundable.” I understand that businesses have policies, but keeping a large deposit after only two days, with an event 8 months away, felt extremely unfair and disappointing. This experience has made me rethink recommending this venue to anyone planning such an important event

The Perfect Reception
My husband and I recently held our wedding reception at the Rusty Pelican and it was a dream. The view alone is enough to make the event special but the food and the staff made it above and beyond. We worked with Melissa throughout the entire process and she was the most calming presence in what many know to be a stressful planning process. She answered our hundreds of questions and was so responsive! She made sure that every detail, including guest allergy accommodations were taken care of and she helped us with last minute changes until the 11th hour. The venue speaks for itself but Melissa is the reason we would recommend the Rusty Pelican to any couple looking for a perfect event.
