Historic Locust Grove is a National Historic Landmark as well as an accredited museum on the Lewis & Clark National Historic Trail and a unique example of early Kentucky architecture, craftsmanship, and history. It's an unusual but refreshing setting for any event! We will make every effort to accommodate your needs for setup and starting times, taking into consideration the needs of the historic site.

Description

Locust Grove’s Visitors’ Center is a modern building with lots of amenities. Windows in broad ash frames give the 20’ x 30’ lobby an airy, outdoorsy feel and as you walk through, provides a passage from the modern world to Louisville’s past. Just off the visitor center lobby, the brick patio alcove is the perfect spot for a dinner party, or a small wedding ceremony.

Description

Audubon Room The north wing of the visitor center leads to Locust Grove’s indoor event space. Named for one of Locust Grove's most memorable visitors, the Audubon room has a working fireplace flanked by two sets of French doors that lead to the gardens. Adjoining kitchen and nearby restrooms make the room a convenient as well as attractive reception area. It is spacious enough to seat up to 150 for dinner, 130 for wedding reception, or host more than 200 for a cocktail party.

Description

The shelter is covered with a roof of broad beams arranged to mimic the distinctive bark of the Honey Locust trees Locust Grove is named for. Limestone chevrons on the west wall echo the angles in the trees and recall the importance of limestone in this area. The pavilion includes ample electrical outlets, lighting and fans. The space in the pavilion is great for wedding receptions of up to 250 guests, or even for a smaller wedding and reception in one space.
