At Live Oak, we put love at the center of all we do and welcome all committed couples to marry here. Built in 1916, Live Oak has beautifully maintained the original Farmhouse, Cottage, and Water Tower. Keeping with the early 20th-century farmhouse style, we've added two spacious buildings - Fellowship Hall and Sanctuary with 21st-century interiors, boasting shining hardwood floors for dancing. In addition, we have a beautiful Outdoor Sanctuary near the Water Tower with amphitheater seating, a 7-labyrinth, and a wooded picnic area - ideal for micro-weddings.

The Cottage / Bridal Changing Room

Private space to relax and to change before/after ceremony.

This space is made cozy with sofas, table, library, and chairs. It has a coffee table and dining room table, full-length mirror, curtains, and blinds for privacy. There is a TV, but mostly it is a calm space for getting dress and doing hair and makeup.

Outdoor Sanctuary with Water Tower

Beautiful, calming and celebratory outdoor space ideal for photo ops and smaller gatherings.

The Outdoor Sanctuary is situated near the historic and picturesque Water Tower - great for photos. Amphitheater seating, a small hill with boulders and tree stumps that can be decorated with candles and flowers or used for seating. A colorful garland of flags and string patio lights make it festive. Our iron-rod archway can add an additional decorative and framing element. Picnic seating beneath Coastal Live Oak trees.

This 10-hour package accommodates up to 150 guests and includes the Sanctuary, Fellowship Hall, Cottage, our full kitchen, and the Outdoor Sanctuary. Indoor dining in the Fellowship Hall or Sanctuary with some patio dining can flow into dancing in the other building. The Cottage serves as a space for changing and relaxing before the ceremony. The Outdoor Sanctuary is ideal for photographs and/or an added reception station. Capacity for both live music and DJ to orchestrate reception activities.

This 10-hour package offers access to the Sanctuary, Fellowship Hall, Cottage, & full kitchen. Our Upper-Campus Package can accommodate up to 150 guests. A ceremony in the Sanctuary, followed by a reception that makes full use of the patio and Fellowship Hall makes this package versatile, spacious, and fun! In inclement weather, outdoor activities can be moved into the buildings. The Outdoor Sanctuary is excluded from this package.

Indoor Sanctuary Package

Description

Our Indoor Sanctuary package includes access to our full kitchen and the terrace immediately outside the Sanctuary doors. Ideal for up to 125 guests, this space has ample room for a ceremony or service, dining, and dancing on our beautiful hardwood floors. Bring in live music or a DJ to enliven your reception or party. Buffet catering can be staged outdoors under the wide eaves of the Sanctuary. This 8-hour package includes an Event Monitor and access to our full kitchen.

Micro-Wedding Package

Description

This package for small parties allows you to choose between the Indoor & Outdoor Sanctuaries to host your wedding, depending on the season. An intimate ceremony or service, plus reception or party is possible in either location. This 6-hour package allows you to celebrate your love with up to 30 guests in a cozy, personalized setting. Our full kitchen is included. Additional hours can be added at $200/hour.

    I got to visit Live Oak for a fundraising event and was amazed at the venue. There is functional space, both inside and outside. And the staff was amazing, helping with the suggestions when setting up our event. I highly recommend this space for any event, and plan on using this space myself for the next event I hold in CA.

    When I retired from teaching at Kellogg Elementary School, I wanted a location near the school where I could host a party to thank the students and families I had worked with for twenty years. It was a great place for a party. We used both the sanctuary and patio. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The place was so welcoming that at least one of the guests actually joined the congregation. It's an attractive welcoming space for events of all sorts.

    For over eight years, my folk-dance group has had the pleasure of regularly using both the Indoor Sanctuary as well as the Fellowship Hall, at Live Oak Unitarian-Universalist Congregation. Located in a quiet, serene setting of Goleta, California, the inner and outdoor venue spaces have a “natural elegance” and are very well-maintained. The Indoor Sanctuary is spacious, aesthetically-decorated, accessible to fresh air and natural light, and has an excellent surface for dancing. Although smaller than the Sanctuary, the Fellowship Hall is sizable, bright, well-ventilated and, also, has an excellent wooden floor that is exceptional for dancing. The outdoor patio spaces are well-positioned to allow for an easy flow of guests on the campus and to capture some of the beauty of the surrounding natural environment. The bathrooms are updated and clean, parking is abundant, and all indoor and outdoor spaces are handicapped-accessible. What has been most significant during these past eight years of using the beautiful spaces at Live Oak Unitarian-Universalist Congregation, is my regular connections with the staff and some board members who oversee the facility. All who I have connected with have been very responsive to communications, tremendously positive and helpful, and overall, a delight to interact with!

    March 2017, my husband John and I exchanged our wedding vows on the lovely Live Oak Congregation grounds in Goleta, California. Surrounded by family and friends, we exchanged our wedding vows in the Sanctuary officiated by Rev Tamara, enjoyed music by John’s adult children, a Mexican catered buffet by Jack’s Bagels from Carpinteria and artistically created cupcakes designed by Samantha Eve. Live Oak offers a lovely cottage next to the Sanctuary for the bride to dress. Both indoor and outdoor areas are available for you and your guest to enjoy your special day.
