About this venue

Laramie Plains Museum is located near the University of Wyoming and the Ivinson Mansion, close to downtown Laramie. The Alice Hardie Stevens Center is located on the Ivinson Mansion block. The walls still carry the echoes of the past and add a sense of grandeur to the occasion. The exceptional, and recently expanded, AHSC boasts a magnificent ballroom, complete with wooden floors, a vaulted ceiling, a stage, and shimmering overhead chandeliers. The beautiful AHSC building was built over a century ago and contains a stunning dressing room where nearlyweds and their wedding party can prepare on-site, hassle-free. In addition, the AHSC features a fully equipped kitchen, where the celebration’s all-important delectable meal can be prepared as the attendees' soak in the property’s historic atmosphere. All in all, the building can accommodate up to 200 loved ones for a seated meal, or up to 350 for a standing get-together.

Alice Hardie Steven's Center

The venue itself is absolutely beautiful and made a stunning backdrop for both our ceremony and reception.

The main area measures 1,944 sq. ft. with beautiful oak floors, a full stage with red velvet curtain, French doors that lead outside. This space has a vaulted beamed ceiling with glamorous chandeliers. There is an attached room that measures 1,120 sq. ft. with oak floors and a 1910 historic bar for use.

There are three tv's with a remote that is available for use. The space includes 4 public bathrooms and a bridal suite with an attached bathroom for use by the bride and her attendants. There is a fully equipped kitchen with two sinks, plenty of counter space, two stoves with oven, a microwave and a fridge and freezer. There are 12 x8' rectangle tables, 9 x6' rectangle tables, 25 x60" round tables, 8 x45" square tables, 4 high top and 4 short cocktail tables, and 200 Chivari chairs.

East Lawn

The east lawn has lush green grass and is surrounded by maintained gardens and mature trees. The historic Ivinson Mansion makes a beautiful backdrop.

The outside lawn is approximately 15,000 sq. ft. and takes up over 1/4 of the entire block. It is well maintained and is surrounded by lush gardens and mature Colorado Blue Spruce, Crabapple Trees, Ponderosa Pines, Aspens and Cottonwoods. The gardens are well maintained by a volunteer group, the Laramie Garden Club. We have a metal arch for use and chairs that can seat up to 200 people. For access to the other buildings during your outside event, you must schedule ahead of time.

    The Laramie Plains Museum was the perfect venue for our wedding. From the start, their communication was quick, responsive, and kind - they were a pleasure to work with. The quality of their work and the value they provided was outstanding. The venue was beautifully well-maintained and exuded an elegant and historic charm. They allowed us to rent their tablecloths which was helpful, and the 1910 historic bar added a wonderful sense of historic detail to our wedding. I loved the oak floors and the chandeliers, and the red velvet curtain gave a real sense of elegance to the main space. Being able to open the French doors was an added bonus that let us enjoy the beautiful day. Our wedding at the Laramie Plains Museum was truly special and everything we had hoped for.

    The team at the Laramie Plains Museum was a pleasure to work with for the couple's wedding. Their communication was quick, responsive and knowledgeable, making the planning process seamless. The venue itself was clean, spacious and affordable - a great value. The museum staff went above and beyond, assisting with event setup and even helping us find a podium and speakers. They were friendly, accessible and ready to help whenever we needed them. As an added bonus, the well-maintained lawn, trees and gardens made for a beautiful backdrop, perfect for spotting birds in the spring and summer.
