About this venue
Downing Mountain Lodge offers a unique location and structure for different types of events. Built-in the round with abundant natural light and views, the living room faces the large fireplace and can be configured in ways to best suit your group's needs, whether it be a wedding, family reunion, or retreat. We work closely with our guests to provide them with the exact service they want and always look forward to seeing the creative ways our space can be used. With three bedrooms and two bathrooms, the retreat center can easily accommodate 15 overnight guests, and some push it to 21 by using every bed and the loft. The occasional group sets up tents for larger groups of overnight guests. Guests are free to move furniture around to best utilize the space, and we have storage capability if the need arises to fully remove items from the living room.

The Main Room
On the mountain, close to town, near the rivers, and within an hour of a multitude of trailheads, the Downing Mountain Lodge is a log chalet.
With easy access to world-renowned outdoor activities in the Bitterroot Valley and located at the end of a private mountain road, the Lodge is as remote as you can get while still being close to town. We are located two thousand feet above the Bitterroot Valley on 140 acres of open forest land and wildflower fields, making the panoramic views from the Lodge a spectacular sight to see. The Lodge is only a twenty-minute drive to Hamilton, the Bitterroot Valley's largest town.
