    New and Upcoming

We stumbled upon this property years ago, before it was even an event venue and fell in love with it, wondering at the history behind the house, which was reminiscent of southern homes--a rare find in these parts since most of these old Florida homes are gone. Since I was looking for an old southern aesthetic (think Charleston or Savannah), this seemed like the right place. The team there is very kind and attentive, listening to our concerns. And tried to accommodate as best as possible, especially after part of the space offered to us ended up delayed under construction during our wedding. We addressed our concerns about the mix-gender bathroom, sharing that our guests may be uncomfortable with a bathroom intended for both genders: same entrance, same room with about 6 stalls all in one space for both men and women. They told us they would add a bathroom attendant to ensure order. Many female guests complained that it was awkward to find men in the bathroom when they went, in the stalls next to them. The attendant did not warn them, nor control that situation: she didn't pay attention to who was going in or out of the bathroom. Another complaint we received from guests was that an older man associated with the property came up to them during cocktail hour in jeans and tee telling everyone that this is his property. Seems to be the father of Sherry. Again, it made guests uncomfortable and awkward for them. Not very hospitable. The area for the bride and groom to change didn't have curtains when we toured. They added them, though they were see-through in the bridal suite and had colored glass one can look through. Had to change with someone blocking the windows just in case. There are about 2-3 cats roaming the property. Some of us are allergic so we brought up our concerns. They told us the cats wouldn't be there on our wedding day. They were. They came up to the reception area up to our guests looking for treats and attention. We were originally going to do our cocktail hour at the Conservatory--it's a unique space--but when the time came, the area wasn't ready for guests as they had come across building delays that Spring (around Feb-March). It was halfway finished, and because it was meant to be part of our package, they allowed us to take our wedding photos there on the day of the reception, trusting that the photographers could make it look good despite unfinished under-construction parts. The team took some behind the scenes photos of the photoshoot to give us an idea of what the pictures could look like. We appreciated it as it takes long to receive wedding photos. The outdoor courtyard is beautiful but seating is limited to only about 120 guests, we were told. I suppose one could expand guest area on the lawn but it didn't seem to be an option for us at the time. Overall, it's a lovely venue for the trees, courtyard, southern aesthetic and cute old house. Sherry is very kind as are her assistants. Some of the new additions don't seem to fit in the southern victorian aesthetic, but that's just a matter of personal taste. The space has potential and recalls a time-forgotten part of South FLorida's history.

    Fairytale wedding of our dreams

Casa Ylang Ylang hosted our dream wedding. This was the only venue we toured and knew it was the one from the second we walked into the ground. The beautiful greenery, flowers and vintage home were better than my Pinterest board. The owner Sherry is the most kind person who cares about and loves what she does. The conservatory just got finished in time for our wedding and makes the most beautiful spot for photos... the chapel was a dream. Everything about this place is incredible. We had the most perfect day and the wedding of our dreams. Thank you!
