Benedict Haid Farm is more than a wedding venue, it’s a piece of West Virginia history. Set atop a scenic ridge just outside from Charleston, the farm offers rolling countryside, wooded landscapes and panoramic mountain views, creating a private destination that feels wonderfully removed from everyday life. At its heart is the historic Haid House, a hand-hewn log home dating to the 1860s. Couples can celebrate among open meadows, beneath a vine-covered wedding arbor, or surrounded by the warmth of rustic wood and twinkling lights. The property also features the Black Bear Lodge, a reassembled Civil War-era home designed and built by the Barnwood Builders, offering historic character alongside modern comforts. With lodging, breathtaking photo locations and nearly 40 years of hosting weddings, Benedict Haid Farm offers something increasingly rare: a wedding destination with a story all its own.

The historic Haid House is an 1860s hand-hewn log home featuring cozy fireplaces, modern comforts, overnight lodging and a spacious party deck.

A large 1860’s hand-hewn log home. It has two bedrooms plus a third sun room with full size sleeper, 1 1/2 baths, a living room and a dining room each with fireplace. Gas heat, A/C, and all modern conveniences. Huge heated attached party deck with fireplace and hot tub.
