Corton Lodge is a restored 1913 church nestled along the Elk River in West Virginia, blending historic character with modern comfort. The venue offers a peaceful, nature-rich setting ideal for couples seeking an intimate, meaningful celebration. With space for gatherings both indoors and outdoors, Corton Lodge features original architectural details, warm wood accents, river views, and expansive grounds that invite guests to slow down and connect. This space features nearly 2,000 square feet of thoughtfully restored indoor gathering space paired with a 1,200 square-foot wraparound patio overlooking the Elk River. The layout allows for a beautiful ceremony, reception, or both, with seamless flow between indoor and outdoor areas. Guests love the warm architectural details, natural light, and the ability to customize the space for an intimate, elegant celebration surrounded by nature.

Corton Lodge offers two private two-bedroom suites, the Bell Tower Suite and the Riverview Suite, providing comfortable and secluded accommodations for the wedding party. These suites are commonly used to allow each side of the wedding party their own space to relax and prepare, with one suite often serving the bride and her party and the other reserved for the groom and his party. Together, they offer privacy, convenience, and a calm setting before and after the celebration.

From the moment we booked Corton Lodge, the staff was incredibly supportive, organized, and professional, which was so reassuring throughout the wedding planning process. The venue itself is simply stunning - elegant, well-maintained, and spacious, with a breathtaking backdrop that left our guests in awe. Anytime we had a question or needed something, the Corton Lodge team was right there with a solution, which made the entire day feel stress-free and truly enjoyable. We cannot recommend Corton Lodge enough. Not only is the venue absolutely gorgeous, but the people are just as amazing. They made our wedding day feel effortless and special, and we are so grateful for everything they did to make it perfect. Our guests are still talking about how beautiful everything was!

The Corton Lodge was a beautiful property for me and my 3 grandchildren to stay during our visit to WV. We took a rail biking excursion and explored a couple of waterfalls we found on the WV Waterfall Trail app. The lodge was centrally located to these excursions. This renovated historic church was simply fabulous, featuring restored hardwood floors and bedroom furnishings. In addition, it contained all the modern conveniences we could have asked for! The outdoor area was awesome also…quiet and serene. Thank you, Ryan for checking in with us to make sure we were able to check in successfully and to welcome us to WV. Our stay exceeded our expectations! We hope to visit again!

We had a wonderful stay at the Corton Lodge! Truly a gem full of charm in such a serene peaceful setting. Our family enjoyed the creekside swings by day and the beautiful fire pit by night. We already plan to return with more friends/family!

Ryan (the host) is great! Our family had a wonderful time at this gorgeous and peaceful property. My husband got to relax with his fishing pole by the river. We played games and took advantage of the hikes near by. It's a short drive from Charleston, WV. We will be back! Highly recommend! A great experience.
