Events LC is an Event Planning and Coordinating Boutique specializing in weddings. With over 13 years of experience, we use our expertise in design, style and planning to bring your event wishes to life! Whether big or small, our team will take care of all the details from beginning to end to ensure your day is everything you have dreamed of and more!
As a cancer survivor, Events LC was a passion project to refocus on something that I love! That's right, planning, designing, styling and curating all the details for an event day brings me so much joy, it doesn't even feel like work! My passion project quickly blossomed into a small business and we now are an all Latina girl gang of 9 that love to bring your special moments to life! Not as expected.
My fiancée and I hired Penelope for her Full Planning Package expecting a hands-on, collaborative approach as outlined in her presentation and contract. Unfortunately, our experience fell far short of what was promised. While Penelope is warm and personable, the level of service we received did not match the detailed deliverables we paid for. We experienced inconsistent meeting schedules (with multiple last-minute cancellations), minimal attendance at vendor meetings, and very limited vendor options provided. In most cases, we ended up sourcing and booking vendors ourselves, managing communications, and handling tasks we expected her to lead. Budget tracking and proactive cost management were lacking, and while some recommendations were made, there was no ongoing oversight to ensure we stayed within budget. Many of the promised “full planning” services — such as a finalized wedding lookbook, reception table mock-up, and stationery assistance — were not delivered (until we threatened to go to court). When we brought up these concerns in a constructive and respectful way, instead of working through solutions, Penelope abruptly terminated our contract, citing “misalignment” and “lack of trust.” Every couple’s experience may be different, and it’s clear Penelope has had success with other clients. However, if you are looking for a truly proactive, all-inclusive full-service planner who will take the lead on sourcing vendors, managing budgets, and attending meetings, I would advise clarifying expectations in writing before booking. In our case, the reality did not align with the package we signed up for.
Above and beyond!
Penelope and her team went above and beyond in the leadup to our wedding and the day of! We hired her as a day-of coordinator to manage logistics and be the "person in charge," and she exceeded our expectations in every way. From monthly status calls as soon as we signed our contract to touring our venues with us, to managing our ceremony music, to putting together signage for our ceremony and table assignments(!!), Penelope handled it all with grace and a smile on her face. Having a destination wedding definitely added a layer of stress to our planning, but because of her calm demeanor, bubbly personality, and dedication to her craft, we were able to rest easy knowing that she would take care of everything. Would absolutely work with her again for future events and recommend her to anyone in the area looking for a fantastic planner and coordinator!
