About Tyler Gets Weird

Tyler Gets Weird

After getting out of the Marine Corps and photographing weddings for a larger "big box" company, I decided I wanted my own brand that really connects and cares about the couples I work with. And here we are 4 years later. I am a very "unprofessional professional". I love to have a good time and I embrace weirdness (will do your wedding for free if you're wearing all denim) but at the same time I also am very Type A; I love a good spreadsheet, I'm punctual, logistically minded, extremely detail oriented, and I will always advocate and/or problem solve for my couples on wedding day.

The biggest thing that sets me apart from other photographers is that I am not documenting weddings for me and my portfolio. It's not about building a social media following or taking the photos that I "must have"; I am there for YOU. TGW is all about honest, authentic documenting. I'm there to work hard for my couples from prior to wedding day to post wedding day to ensure that you have your day as you envision. My style is very photojournalistic. If you feel awkward in front of the camera, no worries, I will help guide to make you feel more comfortable while also stepping back so that honest moments and emotions can happen organically.

    3 years later and we're still talking about him!

    Tyler was the very first photographer I reached out to. After one phone call, I knew I didn’t need to contact anyone else. We just clicked instantly, and I felt completely confident that he was the right person to capture our wedding day. I was planning our entire wedding by myself with zero help, and Tyler became so much more than our photographer. He took the time to walk me through so many things I had never even thought about. He gave me ideas, helped me think through the timeline and little details that make such a big difference, and shared advice that had nothing to do with photography, just because he genuinely wanted our day to be amazing. That meant so much to me. By the time our wedding day arrived, it felt like he already knew us. My husband and I had never had professional photos taken before, so we were definitely a little nervous. But Tyler made us feel completely comfortable from the second he arrived. Nothing felt awkward or overly posed. He had us laughing the whole time, and somehow made taking pictures one of our favorite parts of the day. He has such a great eye for detail, but what really sets him apart is his personality. He is hilarious, so easy to be around, and had everyone laughing and having a great time. He wasn’t just taking pictures; he was helping create the atmosphere of the day. Our guests absolutely loved him, and even now, three years later, people still bring up “the photographer” and how much fun he was. And the photos… they’re everything I hoped for and more. Every time I look through them, I'm right back in those moments. We’re so grateful we trusted Tyler Gets Weird with our wedding memories. He’s incredibly talented, genuinely cares about his couples, makes the entire experience feel effortless, and captures your day in the most beautiful, authentic way.     The BEST decision we made for our wedding

    I have so many incredible things to say about our experience with Tyler Gets Weird, so I’ll start with this: hiring Tyler to document our wedding was the best decision we made, and truly one of the most important. From our initial onboarding call, to bringing our vision to life for both our rehearsal dinner and wedding day, to the final photos and video we received, every step of the process was handled with exceptional professionalism, care, and attention to detail. Tyler is incredibly talented, organized, and an absolute joy to work with. He knows how to keep things moving, take charge when needed, and effortlessly wrangle friends and family for photos, all while keeping the experience fun, relaxed, and enjoyable. We also had Tyler and his team capture our wedding video, and it is the perfect representation and memory of our day.     Amazing, fantastic, wonderful

    Tyler was amazing! We honestly couldn’t have asked for a better wedding photographer. He made the whole day so fun and easy, and had us laughing nonstop. We’re not really picture kind of people and made it really easy for us! The photos came out absolutely gorgeous and captured the day perfectly. Tyler really went above and beyond, and we’re so thankful we had him there to capture it all. Can’t recommend him enough!

    Tremendous

    I truly cannot say enough about the phenomenal job Tyler did photographing our wedding. From the first consultation through the editing timeline after the wedding, Tyler was prompt, responsive, professional, and just an overall joy to communicate with. Not to mention the fact that he is a profoundly talented photographer. On the day of the wedding, he managed to be everywhere at once - somehow capturing every special moment of the day while simultaneously directing everyone to where they should be, and all the while managing to provide the perfect amount of support my wife and I needed to stay sane and allow us to fully enjoy the best day of our lives. I told him our only regret is hiring him before all the other vendors because he set the bar unattainably high. I’m telling you, do yourself a favor and get weird with Tyler. I promise you won’t regret it.
