About Nicole Marie Photography

Nicole Marie Photography

Capturing your nostalgia

Hi beauties! I’m Nicole, and capturing your nostalgia is what I’m all about. Art was always my favorite subject. From creating out of the art cart in elementary school to graduating with my master’s in art education, it’s my life. I’ve experimented with several mediums over the years: ceramics and abstract painting being the most prominent. But photography kept calling to me. I love meeting people and learning their stories. I believe that capturing memories is important, and photography is the best way to do that. My approach to photography is through candid genuine moments, to let you be yourself.

I am a native to the White Mountains of New Hampshire, therefore I know all of the special spots that most photographers aren't aware of. Making your photos unique! Additionally, my work is a combination of warmth and rich neutral tones. I really try to get to know my clients on a personal level, I want it to feel like I am your friend taking your photos or a friend who you invited to your wedding who just so happens to be photographing it. Building relationships is incredibly important to me and creates for a memorable moment together.

I am an owner of a company and value customer service. My wife and I took pictures with Nicole while we were in New Hampshire. I do not have to reexplain myself, as my wife already has under this post. Nicole still has not sent any updated pictures in color, as promised in her email to my wife, and no response to when my wife last emailed her. It is now going into the Christmas season, and we still do not have our fall pictures in color, as requested. Customer service is few and far between.

Hi Travis, I did respond to your wife, and I have since delivered the 15 re-edited images, and I also didn't charge you for them. Again, per my contract that you signed, it states under section 10: 10. Artistic Style Clients have spent a satisfactory amount of time reviewing Photographer’s work and have a reasonable expectation that the images delivered will be in a similar manner and style as indicated on Photographer’s website, social media, and galleries. Clients understand and agree that (1) Photography is a subjective art and Photographer has a unique vision, with an ever-evolving style and technique; (2) Photographer shall have final say regarding the aesthetic judgment and artistic quality of the images; and (3) Dissatisfaction with aesthetic judgment or artistic ability are not valid reasons for termination of this Agreement or request of any monies returned. Regarding customer service on sending more images- my wedding couples and high school seniors take priority once a final gallery has been sent. Your final gallery had over 100 photos to choose from and was delivered within a week. Therefore revising your gallery was not a priority to push to the front of my editing que while we are in the thick of wedding season and senior photo deadlines; however, I DID revise and send the images, so saying that I didn't send them or I ignored either of you, is untrue.

After having our pictures taken, I was very disappointed in what Nicole offered me in the gallery of our pictures. Me, my husband, and 1 year old traveled from SC to NH to see the fall foliage and to take pictures to capture the foliage, as we do not have it as vibrant in SC. When the gallery was sent, a lot of photos were in black and white. I immediately emailed Nicole and asked her for the colored version of those photos bc #1 I’m not a black and white picture person, and #2 we didn’t go to NH to get photos taken in black and white. We went for the foliage and to capture just that, as I stated to her in my email before I booked with her (asking about a popular spot to capture the foliage and colors for my family). Nicole emailed me back and stated that it was 25 per picture to have it sent to me in color. I have never heard such! I’ve taken professional pictures for years, as me and my husband have a long hx of traveling, and I have never experienced a photographer that charged EXTRA, on top of the high price I already paid for pictures to begin with, for the pictures in color. I proceeded to email Nicole back about the shock it was to me that she wanted to charge me for sending the pictures in color before I could have assess to the pictures. When I explained my concerns to her and sent the top 4 pictures I really wanted to print for my home (as I cannot afford to pay 25 for every picture to be sent in color after already paying her a high price to begin with), she now will not email me back about the pictures in color or even addressing my concern about the black and white photos. So now I am stuck with pictures I cannot even put in my house, or that doesn’t have really any purpose to me, bc again, we went there to see the color. Be careful who you book photography with, as this has been our first negative experience of taking professional pictures while traveling the world.

Hi Sara, Waking up today, and seeing this review being left on my wedding business profile when you are not a wedding client, leaves me to believe you are leaving reviews just to be unkind. I have had hundreds of clients and have never had anyone have a problem with me delivering black and white images. There has only been one time in my career where a client felt this passionate about black and white images and they let me know about it prior to delivering the gallery so I didn’t waste my time editing images in black and white. If you felt this strongly about this, it should’ve been communicated at the start. There is also a section in your contract under “Artistic License” that states: Artistic Style Clients have spent a satisfactory amount of time reviewing Photographer’s work and have a reasonable expectation that the images delivered will be in a similar manner and style as indicated on Photographer’s website, social media, and galleries. Additionally, I let perspective clients know that I deliver my galleries with both color and black and white images through the welcome guide, as well as through all of my social media. Again, this is the first time I have ever had someone be upset for receiving black and white images. That being said, I only promise 40 photos in family session galleries, and I delivered 115 to you, and only 15 of those photos were in black and white, your reviews are making it sound like half your gallery was in black and white, and that’s not the case. Along with this, I delivered them to you very quickly, I believe within a week, much sooner than the promised 12 week timeline that is in your contract. And on top of all of this, I am still only 6 weeks postpartum- and trying to survive as wedding season is coming to a close (I have 30 wedding couples for this season), and I am navigating motherhood. As a mom yourself, I would’ve expected a little more grace on response time of one email especially since it’s only been three days since you sent an email to me, and it is a weekend. Your gallery was delivered to you, and I have many other clients who I’m working with right now, including my brides, and seniors whose galleries are a higher priority at this stage. Therefore amending images in your gallery isn’t something I’m going to do ahead of editing sneaks for my wedding couples, or sending out my high school seniors photos galleries with their yearbook deadlines approaching, because you have 100 other images in your gallery. I will upload amended versions of the photos you asked for when I can, as I had stated in an email to you prior. As I said in the email response, I will be commenting on and disputing these reviews because they are completely out of line, and misleading to future clients, especially when you are not a bride and are leaving reviews on my Zola page. -Nicole

From the moment we booked Nicole Marie Photography, we knew we were in good hands. Her communication style was fast, receptive, and was always so excited - she always quick to respond to our questions and eager to help make our vision a reality. The quality of their work was truly exceptional, with beautiful, thorough, and detailed photos that captured all the special moments of our wedding day. Nicole and her second photographer were incredibly flexible, working with us to adjust their schedule as needed, and their communication throughout the process was top-notch. We are thrilled with the end result and would highly recommend Nicole Marie Photography to any couple looking for a talented and dedicated wedding photographer.

Nicole photographed my micro wedding early February in the mountains of Whitefield, NH! Nicole was a natural and came so organized for this day. Im very awkward in front of the camera, but she made this so easy by giving direction. She had already scoped out the venue and had multiple beautiful spots we took photos in such an easy and organized fashion. We laughed through the stress of my lack of organization, had fun, and she even helped me with wardrobe malfunction ( double sided tape for the win!) Our photos with the mountain backdrop look like something out of a magazine. I’m so thankful that I hired Nicole for our day. These pictures will forever make us smile and remember our beautiful wedding. Thanks again
