About For The Taking Photography

For The Taking Photography

Hi, I’m Toby, the photographer behind For The Taking Photography, based in Niantic and serving southeastern Connecticut and the shoreline. I photograph weddings, engagements, portraits, and special events with a natural, heartfelt, and storytelling approach. My style is a mix of candid moments and gentle direction so you can feel comfortable, present, and fully yourself in front of the camera.

I’m passionate about capturing the moments that matter most — the real emotions, quiet in-between moments, and details that make your story unique. Clients know me for being easy to work with, responsive, and committed to creating a smooth, enjoyable experience from start to finish. If you’re looking for timeless, meaningful photos and a photographer who genuinely cares about your story, I’d love to connect and hear more about your vision.

Definitely. I edit all photos I take. Final images will be edited for color, saturation, exposure, and sharpness to ensure they look beautiful.
My turnaround time varies by season. Typically, you’ll be able to view your photos online about 3-4 weeks after your wedding. I do offer sneak peeks a day or two after the wedding.
I do! Just let me know if your venue requires a certificate of liability, and I’ll send that over to them.
You can expect about 100 to 120 images per hour of photographing. But keep in mind this estimate varies depending on your wedding package, number of guests, venue type, and other factors.
No, I prefer focusing on photography only, so you can get the best wedding pictures possible.
Typically, couples book me about 8-12 months before their wedding date. I encourage you to reach out as soon as possible about my availability, even if you’re planning on a shorter time frame.
Sometimes, I’ll bring one or more assistant photographers depending on the size of your wedding.
