About Caitlin Welch Photography

Caitlin Welch Photography

Photographer

Hey there! Im Caitlin, I have been capturing weddings for 3 years now and love every second of it. I will be your third wheel on the best day of your life. Watching the love that flows through a wedding day makes my heart explode!

I love capturing candid photos! So no worries because I will probably be laughing more than you during the session, by falling in mud, tripping over a dog you bring with, telling your partner to whisper something silly in your ear, or something else funny! I get asked all the time how I started photography and honestly I have always had a canon camera since middle school. I loved taking pictures of my little sister, or the carnival my family owns. Now a days my fav to shoot is obviously weddings!

If i could give more than 5 starts - i would!! I have used Caitlin’s services more times than I can count, and honestly… she has never captured my life milestones better. From our engagement session to hospital/fresh 48 & newborn photos most recently, i have an array of photos from Caitlin Welch Photography to cherish forever. From the start, her personality instantly encapsulates you and anyone she is around! She is so bubbly and kind, her work reflects that as well! Her editing style is so beautiful and timeless, she over-delivers for us every time. I never leave an event or session wondering if the photos will turn out… because they ALWAYS exceed my expectations. I have had many prints made of her work and hung up around our house! As far as her business side goes, she has always been extremely professional and transparent. If i ever have ANY sort of question or concern regarding a session or even the contract, i just shoot her a message and she has no problem getting back to me. I would recommend Caitlin and her services a million times over to anyone that ever asked me!

  • Unmet Promises, Poor Quality

We hired Caitlin Welch Photography as our wedding videographer, and unfortunately, our experience did not reflect what was promised in the contract or shown in her portfolio. Writing this is difficult, but we feel it’s important to share so other couples can make informed decisions. On our wedding day, Caitlin was professional, and we were initially pleased. However, the issues began soon after. Per our signed contract, we were supposed to receive a social media clip within 7 days. On day 8, I reached out. After several days, she replied saying she’d had a busy week and would send it the next day. We did receive the clip—it was only 29 seconds long, shorter than expected—but we expressed our thanks. We were also supposed to receive the highlight film and raw footage within 12 weeks. That deadline passed with no proactive communication. I reached out the next day and got a reply two days later. Caitlin said she was dealing with personal challenges and delivery would be soon. When we received the highlight film, it didn’t meet our expectations at all. The quality was very poor, both technically and creatively. The editing felt rushed and disjointed, with no narrative or emotional flow. It didn’t reflect the style or quality of her portfolio. Most concerning: only one clip from our ceremony was included, and it was so shaky and low quality that it was nearly unwatchable. It was heartbreaking to see such an important moment treated with so little care. Even worse was the full ceremony footage. One of our top requests when booking Caitlin was to have the full ceremony recorded on a tripod and delivered raw. It started that way, but at the 29-minute mark, it abruptly switched to handheld footage that was shaky and hard to watch. Several key moments were missing. When we asked about it, she said the camera stops recording at 29 minutes—a technical detail never disclosed to us. What hurt most was the lack of apology or acknowledgment of how disappointing this was. These are once-in-a-lifetime moments we can’t get back, and we were left to absorb that loss without any reassurance or accountability. We later learned from others that her camera had technical issues—a fact never shared with us directly. This lack of transparency was troubling. Trying to resolve things respectfully, we asked for the full raw footage and a partial refund so we could hire someone to help salvage it. The contract stated we’d receive any raw footage, and we reasonably believed this meant all usable footage from the day. Instead, she sent us a new legal agreement—an NDA—which said we could only receive our footage if we agreed not to leave a review, speak about our experience, or contact her again. Each violation would result in a 3,000 penalty. We were shocked. We declined to sign, dropped the refund request, and asked only for the footage we had already paid for. We received no response. Instead, we were sent a cease and desist letter from her attorney. This was especially upsetting, as all our communication had been respectful and professional. We truly wanted to resolve this privately and fairly. Unfortunately, we were met with deflection, misrepresentation, and silence. We’re not sharing this to attack anyone, but to be honest with other couples considering Caitlin Welch Photography. Your wedding day only happens once. We trusted Caitlin with those memories—and were left deeply disappointed.
