My name is Mikayla Heinen + I’m a wedding photographer based out of Columbus, OH. I graduated from Ohio State in 2020 (go bucks), got married to the man of my dreams (can you believe it?) and got a puppy! Lots of life change in the past couple years and I wouldn't have it any other way. I love Jesus, coffee, traveling, the enneagram (where my 7’s at???) my incredible husband, friends + of course, photography.

No one wants to feel uncomfortable and awkward during the most important day of their life. Mikayla Heinen Photography will candidly + authentically capture all parts of your wedding day allowing you to have the freedom to be present and relive the magic for years to come.     INCREDIBLE!!!!

    From our first conversation, Mikayla showed us she was different—honest, clear about what she could deliver, and genuinely invested in our day. She showed up on time and brought an energy that made everyone feel comfortable in front of the camera. What amazed us most was how she transformed simple moments into something extraordinary; every shot feels like a work of art. Her personality kept us laughing and excited throughout the entire day, and she has this incredible ability to hype up her bride that made me feel like the most important person in the room. The final photos are flawless and we honestly can't pick a favorite because they're all stunning. We'd hire Mikayla for anything moving forward—she's that good.

A second photographer is included in the Silver + Gold packages, but not in the Bronze package. You can always add one on! My husband is my go-to second photographer. He has second shot every wedding with me to date and he is incredibly talented! If he is not taking video, he tags along + takes photo with me!
Yes! My husband, Pat, takes video! This in not included in any of my packages currently, but can be added on for an additional cost depending on the length + kind of video desired.
Definitely. All final images will be edited and delivered in an online gallery for you to view and download any photos you'd like!
Typically, couples book me about 12 months before their wedding date. I encourage you to reach out as soon as possible about my availability, even if you’re planning on a shorter time frame. I am already over halfway booked for 2023 (as of the beginning of October 2022) - please don't hesitate to reach out!
In my 4 years of experience as a wedding photographer, I’ve never cancelled a booking. In the very rare event that I’m unable to photograph your wedding, I’ll make sure you’re covered by one of my colleagues or my contracted assistant. I’ll also provide you with a list of photographers from the many networking groups I’m in, so you can find the perfect replacement.
