I found Shaken Glass & More on Zola. I was excited to work with Megan and Lexie. They appeared to be friendly, flexible and within my budget. Unfortunately, the day of my wedding, I had an entirely different experience then what I was expecting. They sent two different bartenders, which would have been fine but here are the issues: 1. The bartenders arrived 1.5 hours late, arriving around 3, when 1:30 was noted as the arrival time to set up and be ready to serve by 3. We were given multiple excuses why they were not there. They explained that they hadn’t anticipated the drive time and needed to stop at Walmart to purchase wine. However, the wine I had preselected and paid for weeks in advance was out of stock, and a different kind was substituted. I don’t feel there should have been a last-minute stop or substitution, as these items should have been purchased ahead of time. 2. The bar setup appeared disorganized, and the team seemed unprepared once on site. No extension cords were brought. 3. One bartender had to leave multiple times to get ice and a working coffee pot, which disrupted service. Only one pot of coffee was made. 4. The male bartender mentioned he couldn’t leave the property because he didn’t have a license. When guests requested certain drinks, he often didn’t know how to make them and had to ask what ingredients were in them. 5. The one and only jar of bitters was dropped and spilled, staining the venue’s concrete floor, wood surfaces, and countertops. We had to have friends pick up a replacement while attending another event. 6. The “fruit punch” made seemed to only consist of vodka, triple sec and watermelon juice, which is missing several ingredients that we had discussed this drink including. 7. Despite being asked multiple times not to place items on the raw wood behind the bar, a coffee pot was placed there and spilled, leaving visible marks. At the end of the night, a significant mess was left behind the bar that had to be cleaned up by the venue. 8. Half of the time, the bartenders were sitting on the floor behind the bar, chitchatting. Because of these issues, they are BANNED from our venue The Ridges at Deer Run (who were phenomenal). I emailed Megan and Lexie explaining these issues and asked for a refund. Megan called me the next day, apologetic and explained her side. I thought maybe this was just a fluke and was willing to give them a chance to redeem themselves. Megan agreed, a full refund was refunded. My wedding was on 10/18/25 and Megan and Lexie have since gone MIA after trying to follow up multiple times. Had they issued the refund or even a partial refund OR even said we can’t provide a refund, that would have been better than ghosting. So now I feel obligated to warn other couples to proceed with caution when hiring Shaken Glass because their services were subpar and they do not keep their word.
No Show Caterers
Lexie was contracted to cater my daughter's wedding in Knoxville TN on January11 2025. There was a significant snow storm predicted that week and the snow did arrive. My daughter was in contact with Lexie frequently in the days prior to the wedding, Lexie assured her the weather would not be an issue. 5 hours before the wedding, Lexie canceled. My daughter had paid in full for the catering services which included food, a wedding cake and bartending services. My husband and I rushed around at the local grocery store and spent and extra 500.00 to obtain food and a pre made little store cake to serve as a wedding cake. Lexie assured my daughter that she would refund her money once her insurance company paid out. The insurance company apparently thought Lexie should have come through on her end of the contract as they didn't pay. Lexie refused to refund the 2100.00 dollars my daughter paid for food and services she did not receive. Lexie instead tried to make excuses, saying she lost money on this job. Not sure how that happened since she got to keep and groceries purchased along with any profit she had built into her price. Please be cautious when hiring vendors. Some do not follow through or honor their contract.
