About Girl Loves Cake Desserts

Erin P

Owner & Pastry Chef

Hi, I'm Erin! Girl Loves Cake Desserts started as a side project while I was working full-time as a pastry chef at local restaurants. I started experimenting with macarons to see what the buzz was about and it stuck. The side project has grown into a full-time macaron business. Set up as a made-to-order bakery, I offer pre-order pickup events multiple times a month at my Lakewood kitchen and surrounding businesses.

There are rumors that Erin is actually two people because no one person could accomplish as much as she does in a day. Others claim she is an urban legend told by sous chefs because no pastry chef can work the sauté station too. Some old photos emerged that show a young girl working at a duct-taped double easy-bake oven with a commercial mixer in the background. The only things that are certain are that Erin's career in kitchens is both varied and extensive. If you see her drinking out of the boot, approach with caution because you can't put that thing down until it’s empty. -Written by my dear friend D.A.

    Amazing!

Girl Loves Cake Desserts provided the baked goods for our wedding and I got so many compliments on how beautiful and delicious they were! The macarons were gone within less than 5 minutes despite having dessert options for more than three times the amount of people there. Our guests loved them and the fact that there were gluten and dairy free options that still tasted amazing for those that needed it. These are the best gluten/dairy free desserts that I have ever tasted. Working with the owner to get exactly what we needed for the day was a joy and she did such a wonderful job every step of the way going above and beyond to help us. We could not be happier with how they turned out and I was so excited when I got to have something sweet on my wedding without getting sick as someone with celiac. I highly recommend this shop, whether for a quick snack or a large order for your event -- the desserts are delicious and adorable.

Keep them airtight and chilled. Wrap them in plastic wrap or place in a container with a tight sealing lid and in to the refrigerator. They can also be frozen with the same method. They will be freshest within 4 to 5 days of purchase from the refrigerator. Let sit at room temperature for at least 30 minutes to warm up. If stored properly, macarons can be frozen for many months.
Not at this time.
No. I do not bake with gluten, and avoid cross contamination with the utmost effort, but there is gluten present within the kitchen.
CANELÉ! They are a cake like custard based confection made with eggs, butter, milk, sugar and gluten free flour. I work with nuts every day, so keep that in mind. I do my best to avoid cross contamination, but nuts are processed consistently within the kitchen. Brownies, blondies and cookies are also available nut free.
No. I do not have plans to ship macarons in the future.
Not at this time, but check back for macaron cakes in the near future!
This is fully dependent on how busy my schedule is. Yes, there is a fee, calculated based on your distance from my Lakewood kitchen. There is a $500 order total minimum to qualify for delivery.
Yes, I offer at least 3 dairy free flavors every month. Peanut Butter Cup is a core flavor that is available year round on the menu, and the 2 other dairy free options rotate. DF on the menu is the notation for Dairy Free. I work dairy products in the kitchen on a daily basis, but work with care and concern to avoid cross contamination.
