601 Spring Event Center is located in the historic George T. Bishop Building at the intersection of Spring and Milam streets in downtown Shreveport. Our venue — rich with history and tradition — provides the perfect setting for any meeting, reception, celebration or ceremony. The building was constructed in the early part of the 20th Century and has had several owners and usages. One of the more notable was George T. Bishop, a successful automobile dealer who purchased the property in 1925. Elegantly refurbished with spectacular coffered ceilings, hand-carved woodwork, inlaid earthenware tiles, bronze chandeliers and solid wood cathedral- style doors, the Bishop Building was impressively opulent for Shreveport. Ironically, decades later another illustrious occupant of the building was the Ark-La-Tex Antique and Classic Vehicle Museum after which the building in the late 20th Century became known locally as the ‘antique car museum.’

Imagine yourself walking off a busy street in America and through a door that takes you back in time to the cozy and communal atmosphere of a traditional pub 100 years ago in Ireland. This is what David Kelly and Ciaran Sheehan set out to accomplish when they built their first Rí Rá pub in Charlotte, NC in 1997. They set to work in Dublin to meticulously restore the unique Victorian bar in the middle of the Charlotte pub. Rí Rá is located in Charlotte's busy banking district. Since opening, it has become a favorite hot spot for downtown locals and visitors alike. The pub is unique in that it was built from an actual old pub in Ireland. It was first built in the early 1800s for the officer's mess in the Phoenix Park Barracks in Dublin.

Pigment began as an idea between husband-and-wife duo Chad Anglin and Amy Paul. Years ago, before co-founders Arnie Morton and Klaus Fritsch really knew one another, they both worked at the Playboy Club in Montreal. The club was changing the menu, and Klaus cooked a hamburger that was sent out for Arnie to try. Arnie burst into the kitchen, demanding to know "Who cooked that hamburger?" When Klaus stepped forward, he wasn't sure if Arnie was going to be pleased or not but was relieved to hear him say that it was the best he'd ever tasted. The park was originally named Douglas Triangle for the street on which it is located. The name was officially changed to Mt. Curve Triangles (plural), on November 4, 1925, when the previous Mt. Curve Triangle was renamed Fremont Triangle. The park was officially named in honor of Thomas Lowry in 1984. Lowry is best known for developing the street railway system in Minneapolis. The Lowry Hill neighborhood, in which the park is located, was named because he owned most of the land and built his imposing mansion on the hill.

Alla Famiglia was started in 1997. Another fine Italian restaurant created from the mind of David Ayn. In 2005, Ayn approached a young & ambitious chef Jonathan Vlasic to purchase the 8-table restaurant from him. Alla Famiglia has evolved into a restaurant which is a representation of the years of formal culinary training of Mr.Vlasic and his family of Roman&Emilia descent. Green, then one of the most prominent African-American businessmen in New Orleans, commissioned the construction of the Pythian Temple in 1908. The Pythian immediately played an integral part in New Orleans early civil rights movement. It towered over the surrounding neighborhood and became a center of the African American community. Since its inception, The Pythian Temple hosted popular performing groups and African-American carnival balls.
