In 1910, President Taft signed the bill to establish Glacier National Park as the country’s 10th national park. Mr. Healy was given a plumbing contractor for the train depot here in St. Paul, where he met Samuel Bartlett, the architect of many of the railroad depots and Glacier National Park Lodge. Healy then commissioned Bartlett to renovate and enlarge the house. In 1914, the farm was sold to John Healy, the owner of Healy Plumbing and Heating Company of St. Paul. Mr. Healy’s company became closely tied to the Great Northern Railroad, as it provided the heating and plumbing for many of the train depots that were being built around the country at that time. The farm was named Hope Glen Farm, the name of John Healy’s mother’s maiden name of Hope, and the house settles in a Glen, thus Hope Glen.

1924 tutor style granite and slate roof house next to the Mississippi River. Its hosts a tiny home free of charge with an event booking for use of the bride and groom to stay at after the ceremony. It hosts up to 75 guests. Parking is next door at St. Cloud State. The porch can be used in bad weather. This is considered a micro wedding. 2-3 hours max. In and out. No reception. Just the ceremony. If the groom bride want to book the 4 rooms over night they need to book it through Airbnb or pay out of pocket. Again, this is not a wedding reception, only a wedding ceremony and accommodations for up to 10 can stay. Room D holds 2 guests. Room C is the family suite 4 guests. Room B holds 2 and the cabin holds 2.

Whether you're looking for a small, informal ceremony in one of our beautiful parks along the Mississippi River or a large gathering in the elegant Mississippi Room, we can make your vision a reality. Our Mississippi Room offers a seated room capacity for up to 300 guests. We take care of all your decorating needs using your decor, including audio-visual equipment, plus you’ll have exclusive use of the adjacent outdoor patio. Our premier parks are popular venues for wedding ceremonies due to the natural beauty of the Mississippi River. We also have a smaller, more intimate venue along Otter Creek with beautiful gardens and natural surroundings. The park venues are available May through October and beautiful blooming plants and flowers vary with each visit. We have a variety of rental room sizes available! In addition to your wedding, you can host smaller gatherings like your bridal shower at the MCC as well!

South Shore Event Center, located in Howard Lake, MN, is a distinguished wedding and event space with a rich history. Originally built in 1904 as Howard Lake's City Hall, it has served the community for over a century. This iconic venue is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and proudly welcomes guests to host their memorable events. Conveniently situated in downtown Howard Lake on Highway 12, it is easily accessible, 35 miles from the Mpls Metro and 16 miles from Buffalo. With a spacious area of 5,000 square feet, South Shore Event Center offers breathtaking views of downtown Howard Lake and the South shores of the lake. The beautifully restored venue, completed in 2019, provides an ideal setting for indoor cocktail and dinner receptions with seating for up to 225 guests. The event center also features pre-function and outdoor patio areas, and elevator access ensures convenience for all attendees. The venue provides bar and linen services and is open to all caterers.
