Begun as a small ice cream parlor in 1929, the business grew into a restaurant and banquets, well-known for its culinary specialties. The Elmcrest, now dedicated entirely to banquets, continues the family tradition of ensuring memorable special occasions.

I grew-up in Belém, the state of Pará, in Brazil. When I explain where Belém is, I always say it is next to the Amazon. I also say what a beautiful city it is. After Belém I moved to Rio, where I realized how much passion I have for photography. It wasn't until I came to Chicago that I could be myself and do what I love. I studied video before photography and started doing short films. Today, I am a photographer and videographer with a great heart, who wants to capture memories. This is the way I express myself. That is Izabella West -- happy and in love with the world!

Segnatore is a Humboldt Park Neighborhood restaurant inspired by the hidden history of the folk healers in Italy. Influenced by the anthropology in the evolution of traditional and regional Italian cooking, Segnatore's menu created by chef Matt Troost is rooted in tradition and flipped with a contemporary twist that is made to be approachable and communal dining focused. There is an emphasis on utilizing herbs and ingredients that are locally available. All bread and pasta served at Segnatore is made in-house. The beverage program designed by Natalie Smythe follows Italian traditions of using what is local, naturally available, and provides a little something for everyone. There is thought and intention put behind every partnership and ingredient included on the menu; wine, spirits, beer and plenty of Italian non-alcoholic options, including coffee and tea, to satisfy all cravings.
