The event space includes a 6,000-square-foot Reception Hall, a 3,000-square-foot Ceremony Space with Grooms Quarters attached, and an 800-square-foot building dedicated as a Bridal Suite. It has two beautifully landscaped garden spaces that can be used for cocktail hour or ceremony spaces. The entire facility has a brick and rod iron privacy fence surrounding the property. The venue includes three historic buildings connected by beautiful cobblestone walkways, lush landscape, landscape lighting as well as cafe lights. The walk from each unique building is just as beautiful as the buildings themselves.

The Hartley House (also known as the Bond-Bates-Hartley House) located in Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina was built circa 1790 for John Pearson Bond. The house later came into possession of John Bates, husband of John Pearson Bond’s great niece and a member of the family that the town of Batesburg was named for. There are many local legends surrounding this house and it’s friendly visitors. According to local tradition, the Bond-Bates-Hartley House served as a stagecoach stop and post office, prior to the founding of the town of Batesburg. Architecturally the house is a typical upcountry farmhouse, with a portico adapted from the Greek Revival style.

The Phillips Market Center’s multi-purpose hall, commercial kitchen with training area, executive board room, and covered patio provide the ideal venue for groups up to 200 people. Tables and chairs are provided for all events and set-up is included. The center is equipped with up-to-date technology for effective presentations, including high speed wireless internet access as well as a broad range of audiovisual equipment. The full service Chef’s Kitchen is equipped with commercial appliances for catering and serving small luncheons to large multi-course dinners. The kitchen also serves as a culinary training center for the Department of Education’s foodservice personnel in safe food handling and preparation.
