Barren Ridge Vineyards is a small vineyard and winery in the heart of Virginia’s beautiful Shenandoah Valley. John and Shelby Higgs opened the vineyard in 2008, on land purchased by John’s father in 1934 when the farm was known as St. James Orchard. Clearing the land, tending the vines, and transforming the packing barn into a state-of-the-art winery has been a labor of love for the Higgs family. Part of their vision is to see other families celebrate the special occasions and milestones of their lives at Barren Ridge, and they created event spaces characterized by warmth, elegance, rustic beauty, and Southern hospitality, surrounded by a backdrop of spectacular views. Opened in early 2013, Old Metropolitan Hall is a beautifully restored historic event and wedding venue in downtown Charlottesville, Virginia. We’ve created an elegant, private event space designed to provide you with a polished setting for your special occasion or business event. We work with Charlottesville caterers and event vendors to bring your social and corporate events to life! Our ballroom, bar cellar, and seasonal outdoor patio are the perfect spaces for your cocktail party, wedding reception, rehearsal dinner or private party.

The Club has a long-established history of providing great food and gracious service for any and all occasions. The Club's Main Dining Room can accommodate from 25 to 125 guests. Couples can invite their guests to join them on the front lawn of the Country Club for a scenic wedding ceremony. This site overlooks the emerald golf course and sparkling lake. The primary reception space, the Main Dining Room, is a long banquet hall space that seats up to 120 guests for a reception. In this main hall, couples will find large windows upon two of the walls, chandeliers, and a charcoal grey-colored carpet and dance floor.
