“When my husband and I started looking for a photographer for our wedding, we determined early on that we wanted someone who was professional, down-to-earth, easy to work with, and great at what they do. We also specifically wanted timeless, effortless, and natural photos. After speaking to about 5 photographers and not feeling like we found our match, we came across Rich’s work. We immediately fell in love with his photojournalistic approach, his timeless work, and the way in which he captured the raw, authentic, and genuine parts of a wedding day. After our first conversation with Rich, it was clear that we found the photographer we were hoping to find! Rich is not only incredible at what he does behind the camera, but he is also a wonderful person to the core. It was clear that Rich genuinely cares about his couples and wants to do everything he can to make them feel beautiful, comfortable, and happy. Communicating with Rich was easy and stress free. He responded to each email with enthusiasm and professionalism. He never made me feel like I was a bother or that I was asking too many questions, which meant so much to me as a bride. He helped us plan everything from our wedding day to our engagement shoot, offered his opinions on locations, and followed up with us the week leading up to our engagement shoot it as the weather was not looking great! About a month leading up to our wedding, Rich communicated with us often and scheduled phone calls with us so that we could go over the flow of the day. This saved us a great deal of time and stress the day of the wedding, and allowed him to do what he does, which is capture the organic, raw, beautiful moments. Rich took the time to ask us which shots we wanted specifically, and he was sure to capture them. He and Greg both brought such a sense of calm the day of our wedding which was so appreciated. They reassured us that everything was going well, and directed us in a way that made it feel natural. They captured all of the moments we wanted, but never made us feel like we were following a script or “plan”. My husband and I could not believe how beautifully they captured our wedding day! “My husband and I decided to have an intimate micro-wedding with 12 other people in June of 2024, and organized just about everything ourselves, including the flowers. As part of the planning process, we sought out a preservation artist who could freeze this element of our wedding forever in time. I found Jackie of Evergreen Botanical Studio and her 3-D preservation style matched exactly what I was looking for, so we booked our date with her as soon as we could. She was the PERFECT choice. She took my crazy wild bouquet, my grandmother’s handkerchiefs that wrapped the stems, all the extra flowers from the arrangements, and even some delphinium from her own garden (because she's such an angel and took pity on me that mine didn’t quite survive), and created a work of art that takes me directly back to my wedding day and reminds me of all the amazingness that unfolded. AND she crafted the most wonderful little memento for my Mom, that was completed in time to gift for her 50th wedding anniversary, just months after our event. Jackie was so easy to work with, providing detailed instructions for packaging and shipping the flowers from the Midwest, eased my worry by confirming as soon as she received them, and gave a timeline and explanation of how the whole preservation process works. It seems like magic that the flowers in the finished product look just as they did on the day of our wedding. “Megan captured our wedding day this past May, and the year prior - also did our engagement shoot. I had high hopes for beautiful sunset photos for our engagement shoot, but of course it ended up being a cloudy day. I didn’t want to reschedule, but no biggie for Megan. She worked her magic and created a mock sunset shoot for us with her lightening. Fast forward to our wedding day. She dealt with our goofy groomsmen, the chaos of having my dogs, a surprise appearance that pushed cocktail hour a half an hour later than expected, day-of changes in shoot locations due to a rainy morning. But through it all, she maintained a go with the flow attitude that kept me level headed all day. Never once did I worry if she capturing what I wanted, or if my photos would turn out okay. “Obviously the best part of our wedding was marrying my wife (!!) but a close runner up was getting to know and work with Amanda! In addition to being an excellent photographer, she is just a charming, lovely, and warm person who is a genuine pleasure to be around. Having Amanda as our photographer felt like we had an extra friend at the wedding! She went above and beyond her professional obligations to make a comfortable atmosphere for all our guests and made a specific effort ahead of the wedding to get to know us and our preferences. During the wedding planning stages she even helped us out by giving advice on her knowledge of venues as we were looking for one and helped us figure out timings and order of events for the day of the wedding! During the cocktail hour my bustling for my dress accidentally ripped out and Amanda and her wife took it upon themselves to help me fix it alongside my wedding party members, which was so kind of them and a perfect example of the kind of person Amanda is. My wife is not terribly comfortable in front of cameras but Amanda did an excellent job of making them feel relaxed and natural as the subject of photography rather than the one behind the camera. Our wedding party members, friends, and family had nothing but positive things to say about her to us after the wedding, and we were especially impressed with her quick turnaround time on sending us previews of the wedding photos. Amanda’s assistant Rylan took the photos for our sangeet the night before our wedding and did an admirable job of adapting to the chaos of a mostly-unstructured event. He graciously accommodated unscheduled requests for family group photos even though we had initially asked him to come to capture mostly candids. When a double rainbow appeared during sunset he made sure to capture photos of us with it!”

Starting their careers in the restaurant and food industry, Elie & Heidi Hanna decided to utilize their unique experiences and create their own vision of a full service event company. La Mila is named after their daughter, Milana, who provides them with limitless inspiration and motivation.

“As a classically trained chef, I hope my review of La Mila inspires anyone doing their “homework” to earn an A — for themselves, especially their guests. I’ve been to many weddings, and the food served is often an edible afterthought. How many times, when leaving a wedding, were you asked, “What did you think about the food?” — and you replied with shrugged shoulders, “Eh, it was okay.” That is not the case with La Mila. A huge shoutout and thank you to Sandy, who was able to pull together a phenomenal menu all in a very timely timeline. Sandy was honest, upfront, and available around our busy work schedule. The day before and the day of, Sandy was there to help with setup — from the big asks, like helping move furniture, to the small tasks—like lighting lanterns and ensuring no glass of champagne for our toast was served empty! Given our wedding took place at our home, we thoroughly appreciated Sandy staying late to clean the kitchen, empty overflowing garbage, and make sure our home was not a war zone when we woke up the next morning! Elie’s execution of our menu was stellar. As a classically trained chef, I was thoroughly impressed by the well-run machine Elie could create within our garage, the makeshift kitchen for the event. It rained on our wedding day, and we were blessed with a beautiful, vivid rainbow—right before dinner service. This blessing brought all our guests outside for 30 minutes—right before dinner. A major wrench in the moment-by-moment timeline. I know how this, for many chefs, can be a disruptive, unexpected delay—but Elie did not miss a beat. All of our guests raved about the food—notably friends who I graduated with from the Culinary Institute of America. One thing I learned in culinary school is that you “eat with your eyes first.” Simply put, Heidi’s presentation skills are on point! Her attention to detail in creating beautiful food displays, notably for our cocktail hour, showed the care, thought and love we wanted our guests to feel. Sandy, Elie, and Heidi may be the stars of La Mila’s show—but the success of our wedding would not have been possible without their hard-working and friendly staff. One of the elements that sold us on choosing La Mila, was their well-stocked arsenal of kitchen equipment they brought on site. (Most caterers require you rent equipment separately, which is not only more expensive, but introduces a whole new dimension of moving parts.) La Mila was also able to include chinaware, silverware, and the majority of our glassware! They even included soft drinks, water, condiments, cocktail napkins, etc. — all of this, and they still came in under what we were quoted by other caterers. Thank you, Sandy, Elie, Heidi, and the entire La Mila Catering & Events team, for making our wedding day what it was. Your talent, professionalism, and experience were felt by everyone who took part in our special day.”
