We highly recommend the incredible team at Pillow & Paddock! From the moment we arrived, we knew we had chosen the perfect venue for our intimate wedding. Pillow & Paddock is truly a gem, offering a unique blend of elegant charm and warm hospitality that made our special day even more magical than we could have imagined. We opted for the Intimate Wedding Package with Lodge Room ceremony and were absolutely blown away by the attention to detail. The Lodge Room was beautifully prepared for our ceremony, creating a romantic and intimate atmosphere that felt so personal and heartfelt. The warmth of the fireplace added such a special touch on a cold, snowy winter day. The accommodations were luxurious and comfortable, providing a relaxing haven for us amidst the excitement of the day. We also loved the unique touches like the speakeasy for a special evening drink and the fun 1920s movie theater. The breakfast the following morning was absolutely divine – a perfect start to our first day as a married couple. Our guests were equally enchanted by the beauty of the property and the unique charm of Pillow & Paddock. The added comfort and privacy of each beautifully appointed luxury suite, complete with its own pristine bathroom, truly enhanced their stay. It provided the perfect backdrop for our intimate celebration, allowing us to truly connect with our closest loved ones in a relaxed and beautiful setting. What truly set Pillow & Paddock apart was the exceptional service. They went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly and that we felt completely taken care of. I don’t even know where to begin. Before the wedding day, Grace, Klara, and Tina went above and beyond on every single detail to make this day truly special. They were there every step of the way and responded so quickly. I know they were working with so many other weddings, but made me feel special like I was the only wedding they were focusing on. I knew the wedding day was going to be beautiful through the planning process but I couldn’t imagine it being as beautiful as it was. From the morning of getting ready, to riding away at night I was in awe the entire time. I felt like the luckiest girl/bride in the world getting married there and having the support from all the staff and support.

Simmstown Manor

5.0

Springfield, KY
  • Up to 400 guests
  • Raw space
  • Outdoor & indoor
  • Starts at $1,400
  • Offer

Built in 1842, historic Simmstown Manor has a rich story. Originally constructed by Harvey McElroy for his daughter Mariah, the home later passed to John Simms after the Civil War. Unlike many, Simms preserved his wealth through the war and acquired the mansion and its surrounding land, eventually owning 2,400 acres. The Simms family added a two-story north wing and moved in by 1868, hosting grand gatherings for the region’s most prominent families. When John’s wife, Sarah Cecilia, died in 1895, he divided his land among their five children, giving Simmstown to his youngest, Mary, with whom he lived until his death. The property remained in the family until 1983, when it was sold to the current owner, Larry Hodge. Both the house and grounds later underwent extensive renovation, preserving as much historic character as possible.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Private area for the wedding party
  • Has a glamorous vibe
  • Both indoor and outdoor options

Venue considerations

  • Dance floor not included
  • On-site parking not available
  • Does not allow pets
Simmstown Manor was the perfect place for a recent family reunion. I can’t imagine a more beautiful place to spend time with extended family. The house is immaculate and the pride of ownership was obvious. The property is extremely private and everyone enjoyed taking walks around the extensive grounds and seeing the horses. The bedrooms were large and furnished elegantly and we had plenty of space for everyone, teenagers included. The owner was very responsive and met us on site to orient us with the home. The kitchen and dining areas were well equipped and had ample seating for our large party. This is a special place and we certainly hope to visit again.
