The rustic yet elegant charm of The Barn at the Ackerhurst Dairy Farm offers you a truly unique setting in a "one of a kind" historic event venue. The beautiful Dutch Gambrel style barn was built in 1935. A businessman and dairy farmer from Boston named Anthony W. Ackerman hired architect and builder Adolph Otte from the nearby town of Elkhorn, NE., to construct the barn. Upon its completion, the Ackerhurst Dairy Barn was described as the largest barn in Nebraska. The barn is rectangular in shape and is constructed of wood with a concrete block foundation. The Barn is nearly two hundred feet long. The Barn, though constructed as two levels, is as tall as a four-story building. In a newspaper article in the Omaha World Herald, it was described that Ackerhurst Dairy was “one of finest dairy farms in the Midwest”. Mr. Ackermann did not know, back in 1935, that his dream would someday become a location of the beginning of a lot of dreams come true.

They helped us figure out drinks for the reception and made sure all the tables were set up exactly how we wanted them. Their attention to detail was clear in how neat and polished everything looked on our wedding day. The team went out of their way to help with the little things that made our day special.
