Haly at The Press Hotel was so helpful in helping us to plan our wedding reception celebration. The space was outfitted for our needs, and she ensured all our food and drink requests were accommodated for, incuding bringing in late night pizza from an outside vendor. They managed the set up and clean up of the space. Her team was fun and kind who worked the event too and everything went smoothly. The space was so unique splitting up into multiple spaces, many of our guests commented on how much they loved it. Can't recommend it enough for your next celebration!

The Common Man Inn & Spa

Plymouth, NH

The first Common Man Restaurant opened in Ashland, NH in 1971. In the summer of ’72, we catered our first uncommon event. More than 50 years later, we offer 17 event venues in five locations across the state. We’ve catered to countless happy brides, local businesses, proud parents, raucous best men, bridesmaids, and delighted friends. We’ve planned perfect roasts, showers, BBQs, fundraisers, anniversaries, parties, dinners, and weddings. Our success is built on recognizing that your special event is just that, a special point in time. Our friendly, experienced catering team remains true to that understanding and is devoted to helping you realize exactly what you have in mind. We’ve renovated the event halls at The Common Man Inn & Spa in Plymouth and opened The Nest, a cozy event space at Common Man Ashland. We’re excited to host events at The Barn on the Pemi, our rustic event barn located in Plymouth, accommodating up to 300 guests with views of the mountains and Pemi river.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Has a dance floor to dance the night away
  • Multiple event spaces
  • Allows pets

Venue considerations

  • On-site parking not available
  • Not for you if you are looking for something nontraditional
  • No dedicated areas for getting ready
My husband and I got married at the Barn on the Pemi on 5/31/24, which works closely with the Common Man Inn & Spa. We had our room block, rehearsal dinner, and after party at the Inn, but I'm here to rave about our experience with the Spa! After booking our venue, I spoke to the Inn about any accommodations or recommendations they might have for somewhere for myself and my bridesmaids to get ready the morning of the wedding. They actually have what they affectionately call the "Getting Ready Room," which can be reserved ahead of time. I saw some pictures, saw that the room had some nice natural light, floor to ceiling mirrors and salon chairs, so I figured it was our best bet. Come wedding week and I went down to the spa with my bridesmaid to see the room and the pictures definitely did not do it justice! The room is large with a sitting area with a couch, table and chairs in the middle and salon-style chairs and mirrors around the perimeter. Our hair and makeup stylists were THRILLED with the setup, since they are used to cramped, poorly-lit hotel rooms for wedding prep! I will let the pictures speak for themselves, but want to add one more thing. The night before the wedding, one of my nails (done at a salon back home) broke and popped off - nightmare! I kept the broken piece and brought it to the Spa the morning of the wedding to see if they could help. The Spa staff went above and beyond to make sure my nails looked perfect. One of their nail techs sat in front of my while I was having my makeup done, glued the nail piece back on, and put a top layer of the. white french tip and clear coat shellac over all of my nails to make sure they all looked the same. I would highly recommend the Spa Getting Ready Room for the morning of your wedding - the space and the staff are fantastic!

Finding the perfect spot for our rehearsal dinner felt like searching for a hidden gem. We needed a venue that could comfortably hold 150 guests, offered a delicious menu, and had a charming atmosphere. Thankfully, our hunt led us to Portsmouth Gas Light's 3rd floor! From the moment we stepped into this beautiful downtown building (conveniently close to a parking garage!), we knew it was special. But what truly made the night unforgettable was Michelle, the Function Manager. Michelle was an absolute rockstar! She helped us navigate everything with ease, from handling dietary restrictions to selecting the perfect menu options and ensuring all our needs were met. The entire function team was professional and attentive, making the whole evening flow seamlessly. And let's not forget the food! It was incredible. Our guests raved about everything they tried. We highly recommend Portsmouth Gas Light for any event. If you're looking for a place with charm, delicious food, and amazing staff, look no further!
