  • Starts at $2,500

Hi, lovebirds. I’m Cassidy, a big-hearted type A and perpetual wanderluster. I’m here to take the stress off your shoulders and your timeline off your plate. So you can savor the champagne, the getting-ready playlist, the dinner-then-dancing flow of it all. With a background in ballet and a decade of experience choreographing everything from stage productions to global conferences, I know how to keep things moving beautifully. Planning a wedding isn’t just about wielding clipboards. It’s about intentionally making space for joy- your joy.

I got married in a courthouse and was convinced I could plan everything myself. But! There are always details to forget, timelines to miss, etc. Cassidy was so kind throughout the entire planning process. She took care of everything. She gathered data and executed a plan that made me feel supported, but not bossed around. My husband and I couldn't have done it without her!

The Wool Factory

4.0

Charlottesville, VA
  • Venue
  • Up to 350 guests
  • All-inclusive
  • Indoor & outdoor

The Wool Factory is a historic wedding venue that is located in Charlottesville, Virginia. The industrial design of this building has been preserved, providing a breathtaking, clean, and elegant aesthetic. This stunning venue was born from The Historic Woolen Mills, a 19th-century textile mill located just one mile from Downtown Charlottesville. The structure is home to an open and airy event space, a craft microbrewery, an artisan-style restaurant, and both a coffee and wine shop. This premier venue is the culmination of efforts from talented visionaries that see limitless potential in the reinventing of spaces. This beautiful venue offers in-house catering overseen by Executive Chef Tucker Yoder. While being nestled by The Rivanna Trail, this venue offers modern amenities such as on-site parking for up to 300 individuals, accessible restrooms, and insulated spaces.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Has a dance floor for celebration
  • Both indoor and outdoor options
  • Provides setup and cleanup

Venue considerations

  • Does not allow pets
  • Best for events with big guest lists
  • No on-site guest accommodations
We did a full buyout of the space for a 160 person wedding in May 2025, and I would highly recommend this venue for a wedding! There are many nice picturing-taking spots around the property. We were able to get some more nature focused pictures outside and then moved inside to capture the wonderful industrial feel of the space. We had about 20 tables of 8-9 people and it didn't feel cramped. The food was amazing and almost exactly like what we tried at the tasting. The staff was great during the event. We had to move our ceremony inside and they did the room flip to cocktail hour super quickly! Although it was pricey, we appreciate that the Wool Factory handled everything that had to do the with tables, we did not need to rent plates, napkins, glassware, etc and it was nice to just have all of that tied in with the food and beverage. The only downsides I would mention was that communication was a bit slow (I often had to send a followup email to get a response), the beer options were not given to us until 30 days before, and we had to rent chairs for the tables since they only provided benches. Also they had a strict "no bare feet" on the dance floor, which is totally understandable, but I wish I would have know beforehand so that I could have warned my guests to bring flats in addition to their heels. Overall, it was a beautiful venue and we had an amazing day!

Cake Bloom

5.0

Charlottesville, VA
  • Cakes & desserts

Designed to celebrate natural beauty from the inside out, our cake layers are baked with organic eggs and local ingredients including tri-color carrots, seasonal berries, and even local spirits and craft beer from time to time. We use botanical extracts to naturally color buttercream and style our cakes with wild foraged edible flowers, freshly-plucked herbs, culinary greens and blushing fruits on the vine.

I wanted a very classic and elegant looking wedding cake, ideally lemon-flavored and not thousands and thousands of dollars. We looked through a lot of different bakeries in the Charlottesville area, and are so, so grateful we found Cake Bloom. Working with Carrington was so easy and she is very responsive, and they're really reasonably priced. After tasting the flavors, it was one of the easiest decisions to say YES to them. The Cake Bloom team brought my wedding cake dreams to life, and it was one of the most delicious cakes I've ever had too. You really can't go wrong with them!

If you are looking for a wedding photographer (or portrait photographer) in the Charlottesville area, look no further. We got married at King Family Vineyards this summer and that's where I first saw some of Aaron's photos. I was just blown away. He has this way capturing the fun little moments, and also creating more serious shots that are just epic (with and without a drone)! He's one of a kind and super fun to work with. We had him and his wife Lisa shooting at our wedding, and I have such great memories goofing off with the two of them out in the vineyards getting some beautiful shots. He has been doing this for a long time and he knows every angle, every trick in the book. He also knows and works well with all of the Charlottesville-area wedding vendors. The one thing you do not want to skimp on with your wedding is the photos, because that's what you'll have to look back on forever. If you want someone who is fun to work with and who will give you the most gorgeous keepsakes of your special day, look no further. We made the best decision choosing Aaron Watson!

Silver Streak Weddings

Charlottesville, VA
  • Videographer

Mike Silverman started Silver Streak Weddings, a natural move based on his background in TV and video production. While he gained tons of technical know-how and hands-on experience from years of working in the industry, what really sets Silver Streak Weddings apart doesn’t come from any handbook. It comes from Mike’s passion for telling stories (your story), producing a wholly customized video that matches your style and personality. Mike accomplishes this by working closely with couples to discover and then deliver exactly what you’re looking for.

Silver Streak Weddings was an absolute pleasure to work with! Their communication was quick, easy, and crystal clear throughout the entire process. The quality of their work was incredible - they captured the full story of the special day with a masterful, high-quality touch. Their great attention to detail allowed them to beautifully document all the important moments to remember forever. I highly recommend Silver Streak Weddings to any couple looking for a wedding videographer that will exceed their expectations.

Harvest Moon Catering

5.0

Charlottesville, VA
  • Caterer

Hospitality is about creating a sense of place where everyone has a seat at the table. At Harvest Moon Catering we give consistent and thoughtful attention to details. We create your vision with a nod to seamless service, excellent preparation of quality food, for big and small events alike. We believe exceptional service as well as exceptional food should be a given, and train our staff accordingly.

From the very beginning, Harvest Moon was extremely responsive and clear about pricing, packages, and flexible options. We worked with Brittany (BK) who was fantastic, and they even worked with us to incorporate some Middle Eastern options into our wedding day. Our tasting was incredibly fun, and a highlight of the wedding planning process for us. They made us feel special and cared for throughout. The food itself was fantastic. It was very impressive how well they captured the flavors of dishes they had not made before. The beverages were also a highlight and all of our guests loved the mixed drinks and mocktails. We had a significant number of people at our wedding who were not drinking, and Harvest Moon worked with us to make sure we had great options for everyone, including a sparking cider toast in place of a champagne toast. We served a combination of our own Middle Eastern deserts and Harvest Moon’s excellent deserts and they set them all up beautifully. We are still getting compliments on our wedding food months later. Harvest Moon was a pleasure to work with throughout and we would highly recommend them.

My husband and I got married at Montalto in May 2022, and it was the wedding of our dreams. We also happened to meet at Montalto at a UVA reunion in 2017, so it was extra special to us and we were so excited to return. Nothing can match the beautiful views from the mountaintop of Charlottesville, Monticello, and the Blue Ridge Mountains. The Monticello team went above and beyond for us, as intense storms were forecasted the week of our wedding. And it was indeed a rainy weekend, but we were still able to celebrate at the mountaintop and incredible views, including rainbows. The indoor facilities with the balcony were picture perfect for our wedding day prep and was still out of the way of the set up going on downstairs. The staff was very prompt at communication and working with all our vendors to make our dream day come true. As an added bonus, getting to take our engagement photos on the mountain top was pretty unique, too (see attached photos courtesy of Xiaoqi Li)

Hello! We’re Hunter & Sarah — high school sweethearts, ocean enthusiasts and professional wedding & portrait photographers. We’ve been married for more than two years, but have been together since the 11th grade. The only thing more important to us than making new friends and our weekly date night is our faith! Since picking up our first camera almost a decade ago, we’ve had a gift for making others feel confident and comfortable in front of the camera. We deliver incredible images, but more importantly we give our clients an incredible experience — every step of the way.

I used Hunter & Sarah for a family photoshoot for my parents anniversary. Most of us struggle in front of the camera but these two made us laugh and thoroughly enjoy the experience. The pictures are amazing and now displayed all throughout my parents home! I highly recommend this sweet couple.

Ashley Cox Photography is a professional wedding photography studio based in Virginia. Ashley has an eye for beauty in every moment of your wedding day, and preserves it with an artistic touch. She has worked as a wedding photographer for many years, providing exceptional service and stunning collection for each couple. Ashley thrives on capturing the intimate moments where your true beauty shines. She offers a variety of photography packages for weddings of every size, style, and budget.

Do yourself a favor and hire Ashley for your wedding, event, family photos, etc. - she is absolutely AMAZING!! We hired her for our June wedding and it was the best money we spent, hands down. Everything from coordinating our engagement shoot to planning the shots we wanted at the wedding was seamless. Ashley is not just a wedding photographer; she is a true artist and has an incredible talent for styling shoots on the fly, troubleshooting in challenging environments, and making everyone feel SO comfortable. One of my main concerns with our photos was that we would look stiff - with Ashley that was not an issue. She had us laughing and feeling so relaxed from the very beginning. On our wedding day, Ashley was extremely efficient and worked around our desire to have the first look at the ceremony, while also somehow getting all the shots we wanted plus a lot more. We even made the last 15 minutes of our cocktail party! The photos are art-quality, timeless, and everything we hoped they would be - she captured the day exactly as we remembered it, even the crazy-packed dance floor! I really cannot recommend Ashley enough, we will absolutely be using her again in the future!!

DAH Catering

5.0

Charlottesville, VA
  • Caterer
  • Starts at $10,000

Ashley and Carter East operate DaH out of their commercial kitchen near the Downtown Mall. They share a passion for local food and interesting cuisine from around the world. With 25+ years of catering experience, they bring the expertise required to execute events from the casual to the elegant. Ashley's training comes from working under a few of the finest chefs in Charlottesville, at some the best restaurants in area, such as The Clifton Inn and The Ivy Inn. She furthered her skills at the Cookery at the Grange in Somerset, England.

DAH Catering was fabulous to work with at every stage of our pandemic-delayed wedding celebration and planning. I think that you learn a lot about who people are when things get tough. And what we learned about Ashley and Carter as we *twice* had to reschedule our wedding due to Covid is that they are incredibly kind and compassionate people who cared about us as people and not just as clients. They would earn my unreserved recommendation for that alone. But in addition to being great people they are also consummate professionals and talented caterers. The food was delicious and the whole process of choosing our menu was very smooth, even when we had to change practically our entire plan a month out to better suit a smaller wedding. They handled all of the details of our rentals, so that all we had to do was go and pick out what we wanted. Everything during our event was smooth and seamless, so much so that we didn't have to think about it at all. The food looked great, tasted great, and was served quickly and on time. The bar service was particularly impressive, and Carter worked overtime with me to get our signature cocktails just how we wanted them. While we had many hiccups getting to and through our wedding day, it was nothing but smooth sailing with our entire catering service. I would recommend anyone getting married in the Charlottesville area to work with DAH Catering. You'll get great service provided by great people--we couldn't have asked for more! At Passionflower Cakes, my goal is simple: to make your dream cake come true. That means everything—from high quality locally-sourced ingredients to custom designs. Whether it’s a gluten-free sailboat or an elegant wedding cake, I will work to make sure you remember it forever. We’ll plan your cake by e-mail, phone, or in person. You’ll notice the difference immediately: from scratch recipes using local/organic milk and eggs, Swiss meringue buttercream, delicious fondant, and a large variety of gourmet flavors. Browse my gallery for a taste of what I can do. I look forward to creating the perfect cake for your event!
