Founded in 1905 by Ben Schrader and a group of local tavern owners and grocers, the original Falls City was formed to fight a big beer takeover in Louisville. In 1906, Otto Doerr was hired as our first brew master and our beer soon began appearing in local taverns. Shortly thereafter, a bottling plant was added and Falls City became one of the most popular breweries in Louisville, KY. The Falls City Beer Taproom in the NuLu neighborhood recently underwent transformation as PARLOUR steps in for a collaborative restaurant venture. The partnership highlights the shared commitment to quality and community between Falls City Beer and PARLOUR. An additional house is provided for the bride and her bridesmaids to have their hair and makeup done. The bride then comes to the Homestead house to get into her dress for first looks and photos. Crump Family Farm was established as its own entity as a farm in 1876. This wooded sanctuary would eventually be purchased by Jeff and Bessie Crump. This dutiful family consisting of Jeff, Bessie, and their 6 children, farmed the land for over 36 years. The full practice of raising and processing tobacco, cultivating large vegetable gardens, and sustaining, and controlling livestock was all normal routine in providing for a family of that era.
