In 2015, James and Marissa Lowry hosted their wedding on the property. With over 400 guests and a beautiful ceremony under the Osage tree, an idea was brought to life. With hard work, dedication, and of course faith, James and Marissa sought to build a place where Family and Friends come to gather. Our modern barn provides the perfect reception space. Inside you will find beautifully placed round tables for guests and long wooden tables and chairs for the bridal party.

The Museum of Appalachia is an event venue situated on 60+ pastoral acres, surrounded by split rail fences, offering a captivating setting for your special day. Reminiscent of days gone by, the Museum offers a fresh event choice with a beautiful landscape, including rustic cabins, barns, and a quaint chapel. We offer wedding packages that are perfect for ceremonies and receptions of any size. We offer outdoor and indoor wedding packages, as well as a combination of both. We offer a barn-style indoor reception hall with a full-prep kitchen, antique serving bars and a capacity to comfortably seat up to 200 guests. Our covered porch provides additional reception seating while still allowing guests to take in the tranquil view of the Museum’s Pioneer Village. Our outdoor ceremony spaces are vast in number and capable of accommodating a group of any size.

The Funkatorium's Barrelhouse is an expansive area featuring stone flooring, high ceilings, bright lights, floral installations and stacks of wooden barrels. Cultura's dining room offers seating for 65, along with décor features of natural elements, including a large selection of greenery and living plants, edible mushrooms, herbs, and wooden foeder barrel booths paired with vintage touches in glassware and silverware.

Experience the Star of Knoxville. This authentic paddlewheeler is United States Coast Guard approved for 235 passengers. The main deck seats 144 passengers and is fully enclosed, air conditioned, and heated for year round comfort. The Inn, originally named Engadine by its builder, Civil War Captain John Keais Hoyt, is an 1885 Queen Anne-style Victorian home. Engadine is on the National Register of Historic Places and has been restored and decorated to maintain its Victorian character and charm. It was converted to an inn in 1994 and has operated as one ever since.
