Glen Eden Barn

5.0

Evans City, PA
  • Up to 200 guests
  • Raw space
  • Indoor & outdoor
  • Starts at $6,000

Originally built in 1860 along Glen Eden Road, the barn, owned by the estate of Gene and Dee Graham, descendants of early settler of Cranberry Township, Matthew Graham, was slated to be sold as part of a real estate development and eventually torn down. The barn and farmhouse had been in the Graham family since its original construction, but was restored by Gene and Dee in the 1950’s as they started their own dairy farm, Brookvue Acres. For the next half century, the barn was the epicenter of daily life for the Graham family. All six children and numerous farm hands pitched in to help run the dairy. Resigned to spend more time with their grandchildren, the Grahams retired in 1998, happily closing that chapter of their life. Their legacy carries on in Graham Park, a donation of their farmlands to the community, in Cranberry Twp.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Both indoor and outdoor options
  • Rustic-chic setting
  • Raw space for complete customization

Venue considerations

David and his team went above and beyond to ensure our special day was flawless, handling every detail with the utmost care and professionalism. The venue itself is simply stunning, and we received countless compliments from our guests on the beautiful and unique space. We are so grateful to David and the Glen Eden Barn team for making our wedding day truly unforgettable.

I have to first start this review by speaking about Maggie. When we decided to book a month/day of coordinator I’m not sure what we expected but Maggie was above and beyond anything we imagined. She was kind, so organized, and did so many behind the scenes things that I’m genuinely touched by her attention to detail and her effort on our wedding day. My husband and I felt like we were able to truly be present with our loved ones on our day because of Maggie and the Harper team, which was so important to us. She made our wedding vision come to life and I was blown away seeing everything put together that we planned for over a year. I knew after the first conversation my husband and I had with Maggie that she would be on top of everything on the big day and handle any issues that could arise. For as much as you plan, things pop up and you’re going to want to go with a person who can handle things with grace. That’s Maggie and the Harper team. As someone who wasn’t sure if a day of coordinator was necessary, after booking with Maggie - that decision was the best one we made. Every venue would be so lucky to have their own Maggie. About the Harper Event Venue itself- If lived in PA I would be annoyingly recommending them to my neighbors but the next best thing I can do is write this review and say that as an out of town bride I am beyond thankful we booked The Harper for our wedding. It was our dream venue, it has a beautiful outdoor area where we had the ceremony facing the pond and our pictures turned our gorgeous with the modern farmhouse style of the venue. We loved that it’s a “blank canvas” inside that we could create our own style which made the planning process more fun. Our guests were blown away by the venue, and I’m so happy we got married at The Harper. If you’re considering The Harper, don’t wait- book this venue asap! I wish we lived in PA so we could attend more weddings there!

Their communication style was poor, often accusatory and defensive when we tried to clarify details with Kelley. However, the value was great - they allowed our pup to be part of the ceremony, which was a special touch. But we had to get any promises from the coordinator, Kelley, in writing, as many things that were "included" in our initial meeting ended up costing extra. Overall, the lack of transparency and professionalism made planning more stressful than needed but overall the day went very well the ceremony was beautiful and the reception was a blast.

Options are really endless here. They allowed us to utilize the furniture they had on hand or bring in any rentals. We liked what they had so we needed to rent very little and were happy to share recommendations for other vendors. The space is sizable but still has has a nice intimate and warm feel and they were actively distilling during our ceremony/reception, which was cool to see. The bartenders are kind and talented and all the craft liquors (which are made on site) are top notch. No bottom shelf here. Excited to visit and try the rum created during our vows!

Located in the heart of Pittsburgh’s historic Strip District, The Art Room is a 4,000 square foot, modern industrial event space. Its rustic yet refined feel makes this space the perfect venue for your special occasion. The Art Room was born in Fall 2019 on the concept of creating an event space with the juxtaposition of industrial and fine arts. After seeing the rustic space, we started renovations right away. Given the timing of opening our space, we, like many others, were halted due to COVD-19. Beginning in the Spring of 2021 we were able to resume hosting events and honing in on the original concept of a versatile event venue partnered with a fine arts gallery.

Why you'll love this venue

I had a wonderful experience working with Lydia and Kristen. We held out welcome party at the Art Room and used their sister company, PA Market for passed apps and a charcuterie table. Bartenders and staff were efficient and kind. The space is a blank slate that you can design! It was really nice that they provided linens. We had about 100 people and there was PLENTY of space. Even a little too big of a space for 100 - i think 150 would be the perfect number for a non-seated event

Grand. How else do describe a building whose story is woven into the history of Pittsburgh? A landmark transformed into the most striking special event facility in Western Pennsylvania. Whether it's the Grand Hall's rolling barrel vaults and arches, its massive supporting columns topped with gold-leafed Corinthian capitals, or the intricate, gold-plated stencil-work gracing the ceiling, the Pittsburgh's Grand Hall never fails to inspire awe in those who come through her doors.

We highly recommend Pittsburgh's Grand Hall for your wedding!!!!! Every single guest mentioned how beautiful the venue was, and how well-run and organized the venue handled our wedding. Not to mention The Priory hotel is attached which was convenient for our out of town guests! There was nothing more we could have asked for. The wedding packages were very inclusive, and everything ran like clockwork!

The food was delicious and the CSC staff clearly put a lot of thought into the cookie table arrangement. Every staff member we interacted with was incredibly kind and helpful. My husband and I recently booked the Broderie Room for a small intimate wedding and could not be happier that we did. From start to finish, everything was perfect. We worked with Caroline Walker as our Day-of-Coordinator. She was fantastic! She was very easy to communicate with, asked plenty of questions during our walk through meeting to ensure she was prepared for the big day, and made sure everything flowed seamlessly during the ceremony. The Broderie Room and the Conservatory itself is just phenomenal. The spring flowers were beyond gorgeous and I can't say enough great things about the beauty throughout the entire building. We had an amazing experience and so appreciate Phipp's and Caroline for making our special day as perfect as it was.

The spaces provided the perfect blend of grandeur and intimacy, allowing us to create a day that was uniquely ours. What truly set Carnegie apart, though, was their commitment to making our wedding day the best it could be. The staff went above and beyond, ensuring every detail was executed flawlessly. Their thoughtfulness and professionalism gave us peace of mind so we could fully enjoy the moment.
