Also known as "The Bean," this is a must-see Chicago landmark for every first time visitor of the city! Take pictures of your reflection in this fun and famous sculpture, and then take time to walk around one of the best parks Chicago has to offer--Millennium Park!
The Art Institute of Chicago
A world-renowned art museum and home to American Gothic, Nighthawks and Emily's favorite piece ever—Little Dancer of Fourteen Years by Edgar Degas!
The Field Museum
This is Nicole's favorite museum in the city, and is a premier natural history institution. It is home to Sue, the most complete t-rex skeleton in the world, and loads of taxidermy—a guilty passion between Nicole and her dad.
Lincoln Park Zoo
The zoo is one of our favorite date spots. It is beautiful, educational and the best part--FREE! Great for families or anyone who wants to spend leisurely time outside under the wonderful Chicago skyline.
Shop in Andersonville
Our neighborhood is the "shop local capital of Chicago." Venture north of Downtown for great shopping, unique souvenirs, a feminist bookstore and fantastic, locally owned restaurants--all on Clark Street.
See a Show
Our absolute favorite thing to do together in the city is to go to shows--whether that is a comedian at the Chicago Theater or a musical at the Cadillac Palace. And there is no better place to get tickets than half-price at Hot Tix. You can plan ahead and purchase tickets from their website, or make a spur of the moment decision and go to their store Downtown. Either way, you can't go wrong. There is always something to see in Chicago.
River Boat Tour
Every single time people visit us in Chicago, their favorite part is always the Chicago River Architecture Boat Tour. Take time to relax on the Chicago River, have a drink, and learn a few things about our wonderful city!
John Hancock Center
Tourists tend to rush to Sears Tower for views of the city, but most locals agree that the Hancock building has better views and is far less crowded.
The Magnificent Mile
The Mag Mile has the best of what the heart of Downtown Chicago can offer. Some of the world's best shopping is located on this Michigan Avenue path, and according to Emily, the four-story Nike store can't be missed.
Chicago Riverwalk
Stroll along the Chicago River and enjoy the popular views, cafes and bars on the Riverwalk.
Lakefront Trail
Need some exercise? The Lakefront Trail is about 18 miles long and the locals' preferred spot for running, biking and walking.
Robie House
Frank Lloyd Wright's work can be found all over Chicagoland, and the Robie House on the University of Chicago's campus is one of the best. It is also one of the easiest to access through Chicago's public transit.
