Toast is a stunning industrial CHIC venue located just a short distance from downtown Des Moines in Ankeny’s vibrant and upscale entertainment center — The District at Prairie Trail. Toast’s rooftop patio is the perfect spot for intimate conversation and connection.

Toast’s rooftop patio is the perfect spot for intimate conversation and connection. Located on the 3rd floor next to the Main Event Space, our rooftop is made for cocktail hours and free flowing reception traffic. Our patio can accommodate up to 150 people, so it makes for a great small ceremony space. Guests can take in breathtaking views of the District at Prairie Trail while enjoying the terrace, which features inviting outdoor furniture, cocktail tables and an outdoor bar.

    We got married at Toast last month, and it was my dream wedding. We toured Toast over a year and a half ago and Sara was so helpful and kind from the start! While it’s not the cheapest venue out there it is by far the most beautiful and requires less decor - potentially saving you money on other items. The only thing that we wish the venue did have was a room for the groom/groomsmen to get ready.

Toast is perfect for both intimate and large gatherings and can easily host up to 425 people.
Yes! Toast will have staff on site throughout your event to ensure everything related to the venue runs as smoothly as possible. Staff will handle all vendor and guest questions, ensure all spaces are kept clean and manage any other day-of emergencies that arise. Please note that we recommend hiring a dedicated event planner for large events. We are happy to provide references upon request.
Yes! Toast has plenty of parking for guests to leave vehicles overnight.
There are 3 hotels all within walking distance of Toast here in The District
While not required, we highly recommend hiring a coordinator for large events. Coordinators will help ensure the entire event runs smoothly and that you are able to truly enjoy it.
Toast has its own liquor license so we are able to serve hosted drinks or provide a cash bar that serves mixed drinks, craft beers and a large selection of wines. No outside alcohol is allowed.
We welcome all florists, event coordinators, decorators and photographers of your choosing to help create the event you’ve always dreamed of. All caterers must be licensed and on our approved list. We have an extensive list of caterers who are approved for our space that we would love to recommend.

For most events serving alcohol, security personnel is required and will cost an additional $250. Toast also requires that you purchase your own event insurance policy for large events — a small investment that protects you in a number of situations. Wedsure, Wedsafe and Progressive offer affordable policies for event insurance.
Yes, please feel free to transform our space and make it your own! All decor that is brought in must be removed from the space by the end of the event. Rental items must be picked up by the end of your event or arranged for pick-up the following day.
No, we’ll handle that for you! We’ll have you provide us with your seating arrangement and our staff will have everything set up and ready for you.
Yes! All candles must be enclosed in glass, however, to abide by the fire code.
We understand the day of your event will be busy! In order to allow ample time for set-up, you will gain access to Toast starting at 9:00 a.m. on the day of your event. Depending on Toast's event schedule, access the day prior may be available. All of your belongings must be out by midnight.
