Built in 1894, and located in the heart of downtown Lawrence, The Castle on Mass is the perfect backdrop for all of life’s most important events. Historically known as The Castle Tea Room, this well-preserved and forever-iconic space is the perfect setting for life’s big and small moments. Due to our liquor license, outside alcohol is not permitted. However, we offer a range of bar packages to suit your needs, including options for beer, wine, and spirits. If you have specific requests for drinks or signature cocktails, we are happy to work with you to customize the bar service to your preferences.
Yes, we offer on-site parking with dedicated spaces for vendors and accessibility needs. There is a shared parking lot to the west of the Castle and ample street parking.
Yes, The Castle on Mass is fully accessible. We have a chair lift at the side entrance, an elevator, and accessible bathrooms.
In the unlikely event the Client should cancel this contract, all payments are non-refundable. The Castle on Mass shall have the right to terminate this contract if the Client fails to meet or violates any terms of this contract, in which case the provisions of this cancellation policy also apply. The Client shall not assign or sub-lease any terms, conditions, or services contained in this contract or any interest therein without the express written consent of The Castle on Mass. If for any reason The Castle on Mass is unable to fulfill its obligations under this contract, all payments will be returned to Client in full.
While we have an excellent list of preferred vendors, including caterers, florists, photographers, and more, you are welcome to bring in outside vendors with prior approval. Hired vendors need to be licensed with insurance. You are welcome to bring your own food.
Our venue can host up to 100-guest weddings. The capacity of each event space may vary depending on your event’s layout—whether you plan for cocktails, dinner, and dancing, or a seated ceremony and reception. We can help guide you on the best use of space based on your guest count and event vision.
