The property itself was great overall. The reception area is beautiful, and the sauna and cold plunge were a really nice touch that both we and our guests enjoyed. Unfortunately, we did have an issue regarding the return of our security deposit. While the property does have a no-smoking policy, we specifically verified with George, one of the owners, that smoking was permitted in the parking area as long as we were respectful and cleaned up after ourselves. We followed those instructions and were very careful to make sure no cigarette butts or other trash were left behind. We did have marijuana in our possession during our stay, but we absolutely did not smoke inside any of the cabins. We would never knowingly disrespect the property or the owners in that way. Again, George had told us we could smoke in the parking lot, and that is exactly what we did. When discussing the deposit afterward, we were told that marijuana had been smoked not only in our cabin, but also in the cabin where our children stayed and another cabin occupied by friends who live a clean and sober lifestyle. That was particularly frustrating and difficult for us to understand. If our own cabin had an odor simply from marijuana being stored inside, I could understand that concern, but the claim that multiple cabins smelled as though marijuana had been smoked in them did not align with what actually occurred during our stay. We were also told that ozone machines had to be used in the cabins to remedy the smell, which felt excessive given that no marijuana was smoked inside. There are cameras throughout the property as well, which presumably could have helped clarify where we were actually smoking. We explained all of this to Julie, but she maintained her position and ultimately retained half of our security deposit. Overall, we enjoyed the property and had a beautiful vow renewal there, but the way the security deposit situation was handled left a disappointing impression at the end of an otherwise wonderful stay.

I recently had the opportunity to spend some time at The Cabins at Blacktail, and it was such a fun experience! I attended a Sculpt & Savor event hosted by Muse Movement, where we enjoyed a mat barre class, delicious fresh food catered by The Koper Kitchen, and plenty of time to relax and socialize. While I didn't brave the cold plunge or sauna this time, I completely fell in love with the property. The cabins are absolutely adorable, and the venue itself is beautiful, secluded, and incredibly versatile. As I walked around, I couldn't help but picture all the different ways you could use the space throughout a wedding day, from getting ready with your wedding party to hosting your ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. Everywhere I turned, I kept hearing people (myself included!) saying, "This is so cute!" and "This is so pretty!" If you haven't experienced The Cabins at Blacktail yet, I highly recommend checking it out, especially if you're searching for a wedding venue. 10/10 recommend! Such a wonderful experience overall.

This cabin is beautifully decorated and has everything uou need. The “island” is beautiful snd we loved the creek. It is in the forest yet close enough to town. We saw lots of deer and wild turkeys. There is a medicine cabinet for toiletries in the bathroom which I very much appreciated!! We cooked dinner two nights and had all the pots and pans and utensils we needed. We loved this place and would highly recommend it! Julie the host was very helpful and responsive to any questions we had!
