About this venue
Shafer Baillie Mansion is a historic 14,000 sq foot mansion in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle. It has hosted weddings of many sizes from very small to over 100, we now limit our capacity to 50 people indoors for a cocktail style reception. We can seat 35 people inside for a ceremony and sit down dinner or 50 outside in the courtyard. We offer our own catering services as well as a wedding officiant.

There is on street parking and the parking lot a the Seventh Day Adventist Church can be rented with a small donation of $150.00

Event rental includes the use of exterior terrace, first floor common rooms, and downstairs party space (the Speakeasy). Terrace Dining Room with large table Grand Salon (30’ x 18’) with baby grand piano Entry Sunroom Library (19’ x 16’) Speakeasy (40’ x 18’) with 12’ x 8’ stage Two restrooms Coat closet Eight 60” circular tables (seat 8-10) Four 42” circular tables (seat 4-5)
Your reservation includes seven ( 7 )hours from start to finish, including the time it takes to set up and clean up. Any additional time will be billed at $150 per hour.
Booking fees for our facilities, and all payments made including deposits, are non-refundable.
The Mansion is located 13 miles from SeaTac airport . You can reach our venue by public transportation via the subway or by private car or taxi, Uber and Lyft.
Yes, event organizers are required to provide liability insurance of at least $1 million. This can be in the form of a rider on the organizers’ homeowners’ insurance policy or as a separate specific policy. We can recommend vendors for this coverage. Outside caterers are also required to provide liability insurance.
