About this venue

Apache Oaks is twenty-five private acres of ancient oaks and open grassland outside Patagonia, Arizona, at 5,300 feet, wrapped by Coronado National Forest. It was a children's church camp for fifty years. We restored it with respect for what it had been, and the original pews are still here, which is where your guests will sit for the ceremony. Six buildings sleep twenty-five indoors, with open ground for tents and RVs if your group runs bigger. A full commercial kitchen, a screened pavilion, a fire pit, and enough room outside that the ceremony, dinner and dancing can each have their own place under the oaks. When dinner and dancing end, guitar and singing at the fire pit and too much laughing under a lot of stars. Then everyone walks to bed instead of driving, and in the morning you are all still together, in your pajamas, talking about the memories you just made. You have all of it to yourselves. We only ever host one group at a time. Come early, stay late. We mean it.

Our event spaces

The Oak Tree Ceremony Space (outdoor)

Original church camp pews set out under the oaks, with carpet rolled through the grass for the procession. This is 1 of 3 options for your ceremony.

The original church camp pews sit under the oaks, with carpet rolled through the grass for the procession and open grassland and blue sky behind you. The pews have been here since this land was a children's church camp, fifty years of people sitting in them. Between the pews and our chairs we seat about 85 for the ceremony. If your guest count runs higher, your planner can arrange the additional seating.

Yes. We do not provide alcohol or food service. Our full size commercial kitchen allows you to bring your caterer of choice or self-cater.
Yes, ample parking on-site.
Not fully, and we would rather tell you plainly than have you find out on the day. This is twenty-five acres of nature. The paths are gravel, and every building has at least one step up except the Gadsden Art Barn. We are not wheelchair accessible. With a couple of strong people helping it can be done, but if someone important to you uses a wheelchair, you should know that now. For an elderly guest who walks, it is manageable. Cochise Hideout has ground floor bedrooms with one small step in, and the bathrooms the same. Worth planning: the half bath there is upstairs, so a trip at night means the stairs or a walk to the bath house.
Exclusive access to the entire 25-acre property Lodge-style accommodations for up to 25 guests + ample RV & camping space Flexible arrival and departure: come early, stay late. On-site property manager throughout your stay. Your choice of ceremony location: Oak Tree Space, Prayer Hill, or Gadsden Art Barn Ceremony backdrop, carpet, and carpet runners (available for your team to style and place. Perfect for creating a bridal party aisle) 44 metal or wood chairs 5 long tables String lights throughout the property.
We don't rent by the hour. You book the property by the night (2 night min.) and you have it from check-in to check-out, which means the day before to set up, the day itself without anyone watching the clock, and the morning after for a slow breakfast. Come early, stay late.
We get it. Life happens. Here's how it works. For bookings made more than six months in advance, 25% of your rental total is non-refundable. It holds your dates and locks in the rate you were quoted, because once your dates are yours we stop offering them to anyone else. The refunds below apply to everything you've paid beyond that amount. -30 or more days before arrival: full refund, minus a $200 processing fee -21 to 29 days: 50% refund -Under 21 days: no refund
Tucson International is the closest airport, about an hour and fifteen minutes door to door. Phoenix Sky Harbor is the other option at roughly three hours. The road to Apache Oaks winds through some of the most beautiful high desert landscape in Arizona. A heads up, Apache Oaks is a genuinely remote property. The last 4-7 miles depending on your route to the property is unpaved dirt road. We recommend a vehicle with decent ground clearance. If you're unsure about your vehicle, reach out and we'll give you an honest assessment.
