The team at 1883 Locale was incredible to work with! We were planning from several states away, but even virtually, the team immediately made us feel welcome and at ease. Throughout the planning process, they consistently offered prompt responses to our questions and clarifications. 1883's comprehensive services eased our planning process; their required beverage package left us with one less decision to make, and their extensive decor inventory saved us both time and money! They offered a huge variety of add-ons that would have further eased our planning, but we enjoyed taking advantage of the flexibility of bringing in outside vendors. That said, we leaned heavily on their vendor referrals, since we had limited familiarity with the area. Our day-of experience appeared seamless, and we felt fully comfortable to trust the team at 1883 Locale to collaborate efficiently with out other vendors. The bride and her side of the party appreciated the ease of getting ready on-site. Honestly the only room for improvement we saw was in the limitations of the space itself: the get-ready space is rather small, so even our small party felt a little crowded once the hair and makeup vendors joined us in that space. We had also hoped to encourage guests to use the get-ready room during our event, but it ended up becoming necessary storage for our belongings. The parking situation required some creativity, and we had difficulty communicating to our guests about it, but ultimately everyone ended up where they needed to be. We highly recommend booking 1883 Locale - you won't regret it!

The venue was beautiful, but we should have shopped around more. Communication with the owners was often hostile and new rules regarding room flips were brought up 8 weeks before our wedding. I believe the phrase was “You can do it this way, or you can receive a full refund and have the event canceled” which is a horrible thing to hear 2 months before your wedding. The outdoor patio was unfinished when we booked, and when it came time for our wedding we found that it was far too loud and casual for an outdoor wedding, especially because there was traffic and construction steps away from the patio. We asked to do a room flip during cocktail hour and were met with an immediate no. After several stressful conversations, we agreed on a half room flip in which my coordinator had to essentially do the whole thing herself. If I didn’t have a coordinator that I booked separately, I don’t know how it would’ve happened. The venue staff like Molly and Chelsea clearly did their best, but the way that we were spoken by the owners was disrespectful and made the whole planning process stressful. My day of coordinator expressed that this was highly unusual behavior from a venue as well. Additionally, 2 bathrooms is far too few for a wedding of 130 people. Lines were long and the hallway and getting ready room were set at 78 despite us begging them to turn down the thermostat. Staff said that they couldn’t change it and our guests were sweltering. There is also no elevator and our poor DJ had to lug lots of heavy equipment up the stairs, and there is no kitchen for catering staff.
