About Still Poetry Photography

Still Poetry Photography

Owner & Lead Photographer

About our lead photographer: Sarah Margaret Henry is the face of and creative mind behind Still Poetry Photography. She does everything from answering emails to designing the website to running shoots and everything in between.

Why we do what we do: We've been in your shoes. You're about to hit an important milestone, and you need to capture that moment with photography. The only problem? The thought of standing in front of a camera makes your skin crawl. I've been there. I know what it's like to be anxious in front of a camera. But I'm going to make you a promise. It's going to be okay. We specialize in taking people who are nervous in front of the camera and making them feel empowered and confident.

Still Poetry Photography was truly such a game-changer for our wedding day. I had absolute confidence in Sarah and her vision, and was completely blown away by her documentation of our day. She's so thorough and mindful of every little thing throughout the entire process, and both her and Justin were such a pleasure to have there day of. Cannot recommend SPP enough!!

    Thanks, Sarah!

Full disclosure: I consider Sarah a friend of mine. That said, I highly recommend hiring a friend who's a professional photographer to take your wedding and engagement photos, and I definitely, honestly, recommmend Sarah. She walked us through the process of what shots to capture beforehand, and we knew our photos were in good hands. Sarah made us feel so at ease in front of the camera, which always leads to great photos. Taking engagement photos with her was an excellent memory, along with the gorgeous photos. Our wedding photos came out beautifully, and Sarah and her team ensure they never miss a moment of the big day. You rock, Still Poetry Photography!

Preferred vendors of Still Poetry Photography

Depending on your package, we have either an assistant or second shooter! Second shooters are included in packages 6 hours and up. Typically, the assistant or additional photographer is Justin, the husband of the primary photographer.
We know waiting is the worst part! That's why you get a preview gallery within 24-48 hours of your wedding day. After you get your preview gallery, it takes us between 2 to 3 months to deliver your full gallery. We edit everything by hand (no presets, never generative AI), and we don't like to rush art. Depending on the wedding length, editing can take anywhere from 15 - 30 hours, and we don't want to hastily deliver an unfinished product.
Of course! We have the standard liability insurance required by many venues and can easily have a certificate issued for your specific event.
We have an analog, home-video style video option that captures snippets of candid moments that will look like the wedding videos your relatives had at their wedding! This is a simple, sweet alternative for people who want a little video coverage without a cinematic camera crew and don't want content creation style coverage.
We do indeed! Check out our couples photography webpage so you can learn more about our fully custom engagement sessions, which are built from the ground up to directly reflect you and your partner. If you book within 24 hours of our consultation call, you can get an engagement session package worth $899 for free!
When the lighting situation requires it, we do use a combination of off camera and on camera flash, in addition to some continuous lights. External light usage enables us to create the proper lighting conditions in any environment, so that even when the room is dimly lit, we can still achieve our true-to-life color editing. But we also make sure to keep flash usage as inobtrusive as possible. Do you or your guests have epilepsy, or another seizure disorder triggered by flash? We'll work with you to make sure your wedding is documented beautifully and safely without flash.
We absolutely do! We've spent 10 years honing our true-to-life, cinematic shooting and editing style. Not only will the wedding colors you spent weeks choosing look exactly like how you envisioned they would, but everyone will be able to look at the photos and say "that looks like me" because their skin color will be documented with fidelity and care.
Yes! Beauty and love come in all sizes, and everyone should feel safe, comfortable, and beautiful on their wedding day. We've photographed couples of all shapes and sizes, and we make sure to choose poses that are not only flattering, but comfortable based on each individual's mobility needs. If you've been told by photographers in the past that the only way to get a flattering photo in a bigger body is to be photographed from above...I'm sorry that you were lied to. You're beautiful from so many more angles than just a bird's eye view. You just need a photographer who understands how to properly capture that beauty for you.
