About Live Wedding Painting - Jessica Stuntz Art

Jessica Stuntz

Artist

Hi, I’m Jessica! I’m a Louisiana-based artist painting live wedding day moments as they unfold. Setting up my easel right at your venue, I capture the light, movement, and genuine feeling of your celebration—whether it’s your vows, first dance, or quiet exit. Your guests get to watch the canvas come to life throughout the night, and you walk away with a hand-painted oil heirloom built to last for generations. My approach is warm, professional, and seamless alongside your photographer so you can simply enjoy your night.

Chaos-Proof: Raising Nothing phases me. Rain, spilled drinks, runaway ring bearers—I just keep painting. Fume-Free Oils: I use professional, solvent-free oils for rich color and texture without chemical fumes at your reception. Feeling Over Stiff Poses: I skip frozen poses for loose brushwork that captures the real energy, light, and feel of your night. Compact Setup: My footprint is neat and self-contained. I’m warm with guests while staying out of your photographer’s line of sight. Studio Finish: I take your canvas back to my studio for fine detail, curing, and varnish so it lasts for generations.

In three words: Creative, Flexible, Fun

    The best!

Jessica was supposed to be our live wedding painter for our 2020 wedding. We had to cancel due to Covid and had a very small wedding instead. Jessica painted one of the photos from our wedding instead. It is one of my favorite things from our wedding. Jessica went above and beyond to make a tough situation a little bit better.

I arrive a couple of hours before your ceremony or reception to set up my easel and start laying down the background. As your event begins, I paint live in real time—capturing you, your guests, and the atmosphere as it unfolds.
That is completely up to you! Most couples choose their first dance, ceremony kiss, or walking up the aisle, but I can also paint your reception entrance or a quiet moment in the venue gardens.
Watercolor venue portraits are custom studio pieces created ahead of time or after the wedding. They are popular for save-the-dates, invitation suites, custom guest books, or framed venue keepsakes for family.
Yes. While the main composition and feeling are captured live, I bring your canvas back to my studio for fine detail work, proper curing time, and a protective coat of varnish.
Dates are booked on a first-come, first-served basis, often 6 to 12 months in advance. A $250 deposit and signed agreement are required to lock in your date.
Yes! I primarily serve the New Orleans, Baton Rouge, and Northshore areas with no additional travel fee. For weddings outside Greater South Louisiana, travel fees (such as mileage or lodging) are calculated based on your venue location and added directly to your package quote with zero hidden surprises.
