Yes, we charge a mileage fee to/from your destination. For 2026 the rate is .73 cents/mile round trip.
We have a minimum guest count based on the distance to travel. Your guest count must be at least the round trip mileage to your location. For example, if it's 135 miles round trip from Slater to your venue, you must guarantee at least 135 guests.
Yes! We offer small group tasting events, typically held twice per month on a Sunday and a weeknight, based on availability. Tastings are $15 per person, with up to four guests per couple. If you book your wedding with us, two tasting admissions will be credited back to you — making it a fun (and delicious) part of your planning experience.
No, we do not handle any rental services.
We are currently booking only through October of 2026. Our family is moving out of the area, and won't be moving our business. We won't be booking any events for November 2026 and beyond.
We work in the greater Des Moines metro area, including Ames. We will travel up to a certain distance based on the guest count of your reception and our availability. Typically within an hour drive, but further for larger events.
Yes, we can provide some dietary restrictions. Including gluten free, dairy free, nut-free, vegan and vegetarian.
For a small per person fee, we can cut and serve your wedding cake to your guests.
We only meet in person for the tasting event. All other communication is done via email or by phone (if necessary). We communicate efficiently with minimal contacts, as we know you are busy!
No, it is not. We believe gratuity is earned! Your invoice will not have gratuity automatically charged. We plan to provide superior service and hope that you will tip our staff based on that service.
