Our wedding spanned five different exhibits/areas of the Penn Museum -- from a procession in the Stoner Courtyard to the ceremony in Pepper Hall, to cocktail hour in the Lower Level Egypt exhibit (where the Sphinx used to be), to dinner in the Chinese Rotunda, and finally dancing in the Upper Level Egypt exhibit. Being surrounded by the galleries in a beautiful venue made for a unique and unforgettable event! Everything went smoothly thanks to the thoughtfulness and attentiveness of Atiya German and Michelle Bach (CxRA). They helped us accomplish our vision for our wedding, and were accommodating to our special needs for food, decor, a few young children in attendance, clothing changes, an unexpected light rain on the wedding day, and even a horse at the procession! Prices were very reasonable, especially when compared to other similar venues in Philly, and we were only ever charged for what we used. I highly recommend Penn Museum and working with Atiya in particular.

The magnificent columned Marble Rotunda, with its view of a classic grand staircase, sets the stage for any occasion. We could not be more thrilled that we chose the College of Physicians as our wedding venue. One of the things we were looking for in a venue was something that would be unique and memorable for our guests...not just a cookie cutter event space. We chose the College of Physicians because it fit the bill perfectly and could not be happier with our choice. From our first tour to the day of our wedding, Michael and his staff went above and beyond to make everything run smoothly and treated us with so much kindness. They are true professionals and we were at ease knowing they had every detail taken care of during our event. The food was also incredible and we are still getting compliments on it from our guests. Thanks so much to Michael and the CBD staff for a truly memorable evening and for all of the support and flexibility through the planning process!

Arch Street Meeting House

5.0

Philadelphia, PA
  • Up to 300 guests
  • Select services
  • Indoor & outdoor
  • Starts at $2,000

Arch Street Meeting House is a historic wedding venue located in Old City Philadelphia. The land on which Arch Street Meeting House stands was officially deeded to the Quakers in 1701 and used as a burial ground until 1872. The building was constructed in stages from 1803 to 1811 when need arose of a larger meetinghouse in Philadelphia. The site is still an active place of worship in addition to being used as an educational museum space, and was designated a National Historic Landmark in 2011. It is frequently rented for conferences, weddings, dinners, and graduations. The building sits on just shy of 2 acres, and our grounds include both grassy & brick spaces and lots of mature trees. The entire site exudes an overall historic charm.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Caters to out-of-town guests
  • Has a dance floor to dance the night away
  • Both indoor and outdoor options

Venue considerations

  • Does not provide event staff
  • Limited cleanup and setup services
  • Lighting and sound are not included
Arch Street Meeting House proved to be the ideal spot for our wedding. Jenn was an absolute pleasure to work with and made sure she understood exactly what we were looking for and how her team could help bring it to fruition. They allowed us to close the grounds to the public so that our guests could mingle and sip champagne outside in the beautiful weather. All of the guests commented on how tangibly historical the venue was and how they loved the simplicity and timelessness of the ceremony space. (Which looks absolutely stunning in the few preview photos we've gotten back.) Because it was so much more affordable, we also decided to hold our rehearsal dinner there and hired a taco truck to act as the caterers. All in all, I can't recommend ASMH or Jenn and the team more highly!!
