Rosemary & Rye

Charleston, SC
  • Starts at $7,000

At Rosemary & Rye, we believe good food brings people together. Owned and operated by chef Meghan Timby, we are proud to be a woman-owned business led by one of the few woman executive chefs in Charleston. With an unfaltering commitment to exquisite cuisine and true Southern hospitality, Rosemary & Rye approaches every event, from galas and banquets to a dinner for two, with the utmost care and attention to detail. Our team of classically-trained chefs combine decades of experience and culinary knowledge spanning numerous continents to deliver dishes that excel in both taste and presentation.

We cannot recommend R&R enough! From the moment we started planning our menu, the team was accommodating and attentive. At our wedding, they truly outdid themselves. The short ribs were perfectly cooked, melting in your mouth with each bite. The salmon was equally impressive, seasoned to perfection with a crispy skin. Our guests raved about the food all night, and many asked for the caterer's details. The presentation was stunning, and the service was seamless and professional. They played a huge part in making our special day unforgettable.

      La-tea-da's Catering

      5.0

      Charlotte, NC

Nestled in the cozy Elizabeth neighborhood outside of Uptown Charlotte, La-tea-da's started in the early 1990's as a place to mingle while shopping for Antiques and enjoying a cup of Tea or Coffee. It quickly grew into a bustling cafe and a favorite location for Showers and Tea Parties. Before long we were catering for on and off premise special events. Word of mouth spread quickly and La-tea-da's menus and events eventually outgrew its tiny cafe kitchen and moved operations to the heart of Center City in May of 2006. Our new location also houses a facility for on premise catering for up to 300.

La-tea-da's knocked it out of the park for us on catering our wedding! They were the exclusive vendor for our venue and worked hand in hand with our venue manager which made the entire experience seamless. Janet is AMAZING. She is so detail-oriented, warm, professional and you can tell she has fun planning out the menu details. The food was delicious. The service was impeccable. You hear so many stories on how brides and grooms don't get to eat on their wedding day and LTD made sure that wasn't the case for us! We received so many compliments from our guests on the food. Janet and her team truly made the day special for us.

        About wedding caterers

How much does wedding catering cost?

When thinking about catering cost, consider drinks, hors d'oeuvres and stations, and the main meal itself. Bar services are quoted per person and pricing often depends on what alcohol you want (more expensive packages include pricier labels). Hors d'oeuvres and stations are also priced per person, with variable costs for more expensive options like lobster rolls. For the main meal, consider what you’d spend per head going out to a restaurant in your area—the cost per person at your wedding will be similar. Keep in mind that plated meals cost more per person than buffets.

When should we book our wedding caterer?

Choosing a wedding caterer is an important decision for many couples—good food can really make an event stellar! It’s best to start researching caterers 10–12 months out, and book around 8 months out. You may not always be able to schedule a tasting before booking your caterer. For many smaller vendors, the effort and expense to put together tastings without a signed contract is prohibitive. In these cases, your tasting will take place after you’ve booked the caterer and will focus on refining menu choices.
